Mechanics. I understood it before, but just some of the problems that we were doing to do with projectile motion took me a while to figure out the answer. I think I know it better than everyone else in my class now.

I had that moment last year in physics doing nuclear physics. Was the best feeling. And then i conveniantly forgot about it before exams

We only touch on nuclear physics this year, I think we might go more into it next year though. I reckon I'll keep doing physics, it's actually pretty fun (but maybe that's just cause I have the awesomest teacher in the whole school).

I'm really rusty on Mechanics. Acoustics and Electronics was my strong point. All those fulcrums and levers seemed kind of superfluous when you could just blow shit up anyway.

Nuclear physics had some good points, but my teacher for it taught the whole class in chinese because there were only three white people in the class and they "didn't matter". What a cunt.

My teacher is possibly the coolest person in the school, great to talk to about anything and I'm good mates with her son, but as a teacher she barely did any teaching.

I don't think we get to do Acoustics and Electronics this year :( we only do the really basic things. That's soo stupid about the Nuclear Physics thing! Dumbest reason ever.

My Physics teacher just manages to make his teaching really fun. He's so good at explaining everything, and we write quite a few notes, but it doesn't feel like we really do any work.

How did your exams go by the way Benjo?

His reasoning was that we were going to fail anyway so there was no point. #-o of course we'll fail if you teach the course in another language. I couldn't learn Physics in German, let alone Chinese. But we worked hard through the textbook and tutoring and passed

Electronics and Acoustics are (IMO) the two most rewarding branches of physics. It's so easy to demonstrate the theories you're talking about in a classroom and you can get really elaborate without needing a particle collider or a degree in Architecture.

Electronics theory can be incredibly dense, but when you get it all together and build an amplifier or something it's awesome.

I think Physics in English can be confusing enough

That sounds pretty awesome, I love doing experiments and all that practical work. I reckon I can understand things better when I can see what I'm trying to figure out.

I love our religion teachers. Both know that not all kids are interested in their subject, so they don't make it a compulsory subject. We have four days a year (plus a camp in year 12) which is dedicated to beliefs and values course. That's it, no forcing of people to accept their beliefs. Plus, one of them is my running coach, and the other one is my form teacher and a part-time stand up comedian.

Well, English and History was fine. Japanese speaking went ok. Then i got violated physically by Maths and Japanese, which i'm sure i failed jap, and then media went ok (but I'm pretty much guaranteed an A in that).

WFMB: My mate's fb status. "Until today, I did not know that an exam paper could physically morph into a fist, and then go on to rape my anus. "

That's the problem with Physics though, you can't really SEE what you're talking about. Electrons, protons, etc. Still probably the best subject you can do if the teacher's good.

Well, stuff like Mechanics he shows us all these youtube clips for, explaining different things (lots of Mythbusters too  ) . Even if it's just drawn diagrams it's good for me.

You do speaking in your exams :O ?!
Maths in Australia is really really hard apparently. My friend who moved back there had to get a tutor, but she still can't catch up so now she's dropped down to the level below because she was only getting about 55% .

I don't really know anything about the Australian format for exams, so do you have the written and oral as separate exams?
Over here we get all our marks for speaking assesments for languages throughout the year internally.

When I did german you had two oral and for internal written tests before the end of year exams where you did an oral and written exam with an external examiner which was weighted 40-60 for your end of year mark.

Wow, no pressure for those externals.
We have all of the speaking and half of the writing assessed internally, so then in the external exam we do a small writing section, along with listening and reading exams. But then we work off credits, not percentages or overall marks.

Sort of. Because Die Bart Die would be a noun, they'd read it as english and leave it as is. If you were to take it as being in German, 'die' is the female nominative 'the', so you'd be calling Bart a girl.

My speaking exam this semester was based on the question "drinking coffee in the town square is a normal activity in France; what is the equivalent in Australia? Is drinking coffee a normal pastime?"

My answer then included the Snowy Hydro Scheme, Nazi Germany and the phrase "meat pies, beer and TimTams".
