Sainsbury's is fucking awesome!

We've got a lot of supermarkets, but Coles & Woolies are the 2 major players.

* Bi-Lo
* Franklins
* Aldi
* I.G.A
* Safeways

Rumour has it, a couple of those massive buy-in-bulk supermarkets you get in America are opening up here. I believe one's already opened up in Melbourne, another one is opening later this year, or next year in Auburn, here in Sydney.

I believe so, about a year ago. Shame, they were good.

:lol: I dunno, Where we were staying in Littlehampton, there was a Sainsbury's just down the road from us. I just remember shopping there on quite a few occasions.

All this reminiscing about England, makes me wanna go back. :(

The awesome thing about supermarkets over there too is they sell Alcohol off the shelf. So instead of having to go into a seperate bottle shop, you can pop in for a quick pint of milk, and walk out with a dozen lagers :lol:

Fair enough, Sainsbury's is my supermarket of choice whenever over there usually too.

Costco and Walmart are looking to push into the market.

The monopoly that Coles and Woolies hold in Australia is ridiculous. The competition in England is much fiercer, and their prices are more reasonable. But thei fresh produce is much more inhibitive than in australia.

Costco is the one I was thinking of. I don't think Walmart's opening up here. I know CostCo have opened up in Melbourne and to be in Sydney. I saw it, on A Current Affair. ;)

And if you saw it on ACA you know it's true.

I think Walmard will struggle in Australia, not being able to sell guns and all.

Costco going to Canberra as well.
