Young Fury fans get kick-along

November 9th, 2009

THE NQ Fury has teamed up with the Townsville Bulletin to kick a goal for soccer-loving kids.

As part of the collaboration, children aged 15 and under will receive free entry to the Fury's next home game, redeemable with the purchase of an adult ticket and a coupon from the paper.

The bonus offer is valid for both general admission and eastern grandstand seating for the game on November 21.

Annabelle Drennan, of Rosslea, yesterday gave the Fury, and the promotion, the thumbs-up.

''I love the atmosphere at games; it's really exciting, plus I get to catch up with my friends and cheer along with them,'' Annabelle, 11, said.

''I think it's (the game) a good night for families and hopefully more kids will come along now.''

NQ Fury FC head of commercial operations Scott Waters said the promotion was a bonus for families as well as young supporters, like Annabelle, who had diligently turned up all season.

''This is a great opportunity for families who have not yet been to an NQ Fury game, to experience A-League football at a very affordable price,'' he said.

''The Townsville Bulletin bonus offer is also an opportunity for us to thank our growing fan base of young supporters who have been turning out to support their team all season.''

aifTownsville Bulletin marketing manager Bronwyn Bender said the coupon-boon was an opportunity for the paper to give back to readers while supporting the local A-League franchise.

''The Fury has been showing wonderful progress in the last month, and we hope that form continues as all of Townsville gets behind them for the game against the Central Coast Mariners,'' she said.

The free entry coupon will run in the Bulletin daily from Monday, November 16, until game day the following Saturday.

The coupon can be redeemed at the Riverway Ticketek outlet and the Townsville Civic Theatre, or at Dairy Farmers Stadium on game day from 1pm.

this club is doing all the right things in engaging with grassroots football and the local community. when this club was introduced they were my newly hated team, but seriously they have turned that around and now i want them to really make the top 6, despite having fowler in the team, and get some crowds near the 10k mark. alot of other clubs should look at NQ's community outreach.
