Joffa, that wikipedia population estimate is from 06, we hit 100k mid last year. TBH I havent been to Ballarat for ages, last time I went was to watch our Inter League Aussie Rules team destroy yours when my cousin and mate were playing but that was about three or four years ago I think so I cant really remember it. Ballarat has a great place in Sovereign Hill but we have the better gold history but tbh neither city has much to boast about

I think it's about time we move on. I for one, had an epic weekend. A new thai restaurant opened up in Cronulla which is a-maze-ing. The Chicken Thunder dish was to die for. Aussies beat Oman, NZ qualified for WC, Tiger won the Open, I got to fit in some guitar and hammock time and work on saturday wasn't as annoying as usual. All up i will give it four stars.

I'd give it a 9.8. Turning 18, finishing school just before hand and all the other stuff you mentioned above.

Cycalists are the worst. They're about as intimidating as a shoebox, but they take up the road like they're a five tonne truck.

Fair enough they'd like to cycle on the road, but do they have to cycle so close to the edge of the breakdown lane? That can be annoying, when they cut it a bit fine there.

Keep to the left. And there's no reason to ride two to fifteen abreast across the fucking tarmac. You're a bike, not a truck. You ride the thing because it's small and compact. Now fucking act like it.

A lot of motorists don't follow the road rules either! I'm all for more cycling, i think we just need more bike lanes, and awareness stratagies. Heck, if it works for the dutch, why can't it elsewhere.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

afromanGT wrote:Bike lanes are well and good, except cyclists won't ride in them #-o fucking morons. After project managing and also cycling around Australian in 2008 (MyPOWER google it) I can safely say that if there were real cycle ways they would get used. Sydney is one of the worst places in Australia to try to cycle. They slap a beware cyclists sign on the side of the road then claim they have a new cycleway. Fucking idiots... Kings St in Newtown is considered cycle friendly for fuck's sake... anybody who lives in Sydney knows how ridiculous that is! People seem to forget that cyclists and car drivers have the same right to use any road (except for motorways). So don't think you can say shit like Quote:Thye ask too be treated like motorists then don't follow the fucking road rules. . The road rules apply to them as they do to any driver. I guarantee you more drivers break the speeding laws every day than cyclists breaking roads rules in a year.

Cyclists piss me off because they expect to be given respect and to be treated like a normal vehicle on the road but as soon a you get to a red light they throw that methodology away and cycle through it and they hog like half of the fucking road. My dad's one of those cyclists too and we give him so much shit about it, their fanatics and he is trying to convert the rest of my family but thanfully they see sense and arent having a bar of it

History is the Vietnam conflict and a study on film comparison between Green Berets which was propaganda basicaly and Platoon which was an enjoyable film. Literature is on Pride and Prejudice, Anton Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" and a collection of Wilfred Owen and Yates poetry

What do you think of The Cherry Orchard Fredsta? We studied another one of Chekhov's pieces in Year 12 Lit, the Three Sisters. He's a fantastic playwright.

Yeah I quite liked The Cherry Orchard Funky, The Three Sisters is in the book of Chekhov plays I have so I might give it a read one day. I dont know about The Three Sisters but I like how he was so prophetic in predicting the death of the aristocratic society and the rise of the new working class before the revolution took place. The Cherry Orchard is pretty much all about that and the Orchard is a motif for the old aristocratic Russia and the aristocrats who own it become broke and sell to one of their emancipated servants who is now a wealthy worker and a first look at the type of working class Russia that will come as he cuts down the Orchard to sell the land for plots. The old servant Firs who was loyal too the aristocrat family for the whole text also symbolizes the changing of the social herirachy and his death coincides with the death of the old aristocratic Russia that he served. So basicaly I love how Chekhov is able to summarize the social times of Russia with a simople play about the sale of an Orchard

Three Sisters was very similar with what it represented, and what you're talking about there. Definitely worth reading if you enjoy the way he works Social order of Russia at the time, in to his stories.
