Some one from my club just mentioned that the FFV have basically told every club in their jurisdiction to change their constitutions - to supposedly re-define the definition of a "club".

i.e. http://www.footballfedvic.com.au/pageitem.aspx?id=23594&id2=1&eID=7250&entityID=7250
http://www.footballfedvic.com.au/pageitem.aspx?id=23594&id2=1&eID=7250&entityID=7250

They have even gone to the level of asking them to be sent to the FFV for review, and have sent back changes that are required.

Does anyone have any more information on this?

FFV have suggested a draft "model" constitution - it's an interesting read...

We just changed our constitution at the AGM, we only added a few bits that the FFV had requested. The stuff we added mainly stated that we would follow FFV Laws and Procedures, etc, etc. We left out a majority of it as it contained some bullshit regarding voting rights including Life Members of clubs were to NOT get a vote at certain club meetings.
In all they want it to get through to make clubs more accountable for their actions via the constitution.
There is a lot in there that is very "iffy" and clubs will have to read over it thoroughly to see what applies to them.

wheres that FFV muppet to explain how this is great for all clubs. With these changes all the FFV have to do is pass a bylaw which means that all clubs would have to add this bylaw to the constitution. Clubs have thrown away control of their clubs.

There are some clubs that have voted against the changes and have still been admitted to the new season.

I can't remember what the old regulations/guidelines were, but it's funny that they appear to be saying that for the good of the game A-League sides must be privately owned with the ideal of making a profit, whilst state league sides must be member-owned and non-profit making. As I read it (briefly), if a kindly and benevolent type came along and wanted to set up a private football club, under these conditions he wouldn't be able to.
