Quote:Let them in, we are all immigrants to the country at some point in our heritage, every single one of us. Why are we denying those who want the freedom to live in our beautiful country to enjoy what we have been doing for years. Yeah, but most of us came legitimately. Either paying our way to come through the airports and pay for a visa, or applying for refugee status. These people are paying soem guy with a boat $10,000/head to jump the queue. It is in essence, people smuggling, which is internationally condemned - but people here are saying it's acceptable? There's a movie about people smuggling on one of the HD channels this weekend, I suggest you watch it.

Abbott to turn the party around especially if Rudd throws his toys out of the pram now and calls a double dissolution.

All hail the Rule of the conservitive Catholic!
If there is a better candidate for the conservitive Right I do not know who it is.
The liberal party are truly going to be the Evil in Australian polotics with him at the helm.

Do you expect great things from Abbott? What's that now??? 3 leaders in 2 years....Nelson, Turnbull and Abbott.....sounds like a party in crisis to me.

Then 55 of them voted to veto the ETS. The party will unite under Abott and unlike Rudd he wont be full of spin.

His stance on things like abortion same sex unions and young people will put a stop to things like progress, acceptance and pro choice. I dont like Rudd and I think he is a massive tool but Abbott is evil and we need more independants in the house to fight the evil that the 2 party system brings. Dont be fooled the ETS is terrible and needs to be rethought. Did you know that Australia is the leader in Solar technologiy?? We export 95% of it to Europe and a major part of that to Germany. If every household was fitted with Solar pannels and excess power was fed back in to the grid we would reduce the need for power stations by 75% reducing our Carbon footprint by half.

So Turnbull gets the sack because he stood up for what he believed in? Further proof that politics works
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

marconi101 wrote:So Turnbull gets the sack because he stood up for what he believed in? Further proof that politics works No he got sacked because he went against party polocy. By agreeing to the ETS he was admitting that there is a green house issue and the Liberal party have been against this belief since before John Howard. He was basically saying he was a Wigan fan then going to Liverpool matches.

So he went against the party policy of complete ignorance towards the environment and climate change issues?

He would certainly have more credibility then the current pretenders for leadership. Hockey is a joke as well. The liberals are in a very sad state.

Quite ironic considering work choices was him and Howard :p Abott offers an alternative. As much as you may hate him (I don't hate him but some of the things he believes in are just fucked) he will give us a viable strong alternative and set out his own policies.

Just out of interest where do you stand on this global emissions policy Turnbull tried to get through? Do you believe the Liberal Party is doing enough about global emissions in their policies?

IMO anything more than nothing is to much. Human affect on emissions is minimal and Australia's affect even less. Global warming is a myth used by left wingers to make money.

If you're trolling, you're doing a bloody good job. If you're not you desperately need to look into the subject.

Remember when we were kids it was "holes in the ozone layer". The green business is a multi billion dollar industry and the scientists who sell this propaganda have made millions of dollars off of it.
