Has this bloke made up his mind yet about his international future?

As far as I know, he still hasn't made up his mind on what country he'll represent.

Does anyone know about his availability for the February 6 game against Qatar? Is the Uruguayan league still going or it is in the off-season? If he is available, we should do our utmost to get this guy. Last time I looked besides Viduka, we have no Australian striker playing in one of the three top divisions in Europe.

I sincerely doubt we'll get him as like mentioned before, I suspect it was more or less a way to fast track his progress into the Uruguay national team.

Short of the fact that you indeed aren’t a moderator, it is hardly an old topic. The possibility of Porta turning out for Australia was much discussed a few weeks ago. Many people were thinking he would be capped by Uruguay at their earliest opportunity thus preventing that happening. Uruguay named their squad last night and he isn’t in it, which makes the ‘rumour’ again topical and therefore the raising of it appropriate.

It's old if the player has moved to the club and the transfer window is closed. Another thing, this has nothing to do with his uruguay-australia decision this is about his club.

I would love to see him play for Australia but if it were the other way round Born in Uruguay and played in Australia hes whole life and he played for Uruguay we would be outraged.
