I noticed something innovative (almost radical) happened in another thread (or rather 'to' another thread).
The title of the thread was 'The one and the only Sydney Olympic'.
It was moved from this section (the Australian Football section) to the Grass Roots football section, basically because it dealt with a NSW State League club and fair enough.
Nobody would disagree with the principle behind that decision and that action (apart from the few Olympic supporters I suppose).
Some of us (including myself) would even say "about friggin time".
About friggin time, in fact, that a thread that uses the good name of an old state league club as a means of creating the impression there's an "us vs them" war out there between A-League and State League fans, was at long last removed from this section.
Let's hope future threads dealing with the affairs of other state league clubs, (SMFC is one that comes to mind) will be treated the same way and removed from the Australian Football section as well, otherwise supporters of Syd. Olympic could rightly claim there's one rule for one and another rule for others at play.
The only reason I mention SMFC is because in the 3 years I have been visiting 442's Australian Football section, there have been many threads using the good name of this club to create the impression of ongoing divisions, unhappiness and bitterness among football fans in this country since the inception of the A-League, but to my knowledge such threads have never been moved from this section to the Grassroots section.
'What's good for the goose is good for the gander' some Olympic supporters might be saying in the future.
PS: I extend a very Happy New Year to everyone here, friends, foes, absolutely everyone. I hope Australian football has improved on and off the field in leaps and bounds by this time next year. Amen. [-o< :d
