Good for Sunday. Maybe we should go through what we ACTUALLY have to do before then so it doesn't get messed up on the day...

Basically, I'll be hosting the game. I'll set it all up, just like a normal FM game, and then open the server. I'll give you guys the IP address and the password, and you all join. Once everyone is in, it's pretty much like a normal FM game. Except, when you hit continue, it doesn't continue until EVERYONE has hit continue. And the game proceeds like that. I believe there's an in game chat function, but if not, we'll set up with everyone on msn.

There are also some "timeout" based continues, but anyone I've seen who has done this before leaves it off initially when the season starts, and only introduces it during the season.

There's three types of continue. Or there used to be. Time based - So where everyone had say ten minutes to do everything they needed to do and hit continue or the game would automatically continue. User based - where everyone hits continue. Forced continue - where someone calls time on whoever is lagging behind and the Moderator clicks 'force continue' which continues the game whether the user likes it or not. Quote:...I'm not sure. That's the first I've heard of it, what was the program? It's probably a program to establish a server across the internet, so we all have the same IP's, a subsidiary of your server.

I don't think you need to use Hamachi at all. That just turns it into a lan.. I don't think that's necessary for what we want, and I'm not really willing to use that program, I've tried it before and it ruined my network, which runs with 3 computers and the xbox, and I'm not going to spend a week fixing it again.

Well if you can find another way of doing it, I'm willing to hear it, but I was told that's the only way you can play online without FMLive.

What's the link for this Hamachi app? I'll be up for Sunday hopefully.

Quote:Is logmein hamachi the same as hamachi? I have no idea. Ask avy FFS. Or wait for mack to come back and tell us there's another way of doing it. There isn't as far as I can tell, because it's NETWORK play and for that, you need a NETWORK.

I'm going through and having a look at the network stuff now. I'm sure they mean "network" in the broad sense including internet rather than just as a lan.
It would be nice to have a person or 2 to help test, if you could pm me your MSN email that would be great.
Okay, I've tried with 2 people, they both get "Unable to connect to server".
Fuck it, I'm in for Hamachi, my network and computers be damned lol.
I know it's possible to host without it, but if people can't connect properly, hamachi should make the game think it's on a lan with each other, which should run fine.

Ok, so everyone needs to download Hamachi.
I'm downloading the 9.0.3 patch now, but it's been stuck at 104 of 109MB for about the last 20 minutes which has me a little worried.

I'm probably sounding like an idiot here but what do I do after I download it? Do I put it somewhere?
