just installed the demo for fm 10...the layout is pissing me off. not really user friendly at all. i played it for about 30 mins but then i gave up with the layout. went back to playing 08. the new features are great, but its just the layout for me. hoepfully someone creates a much more user friendly layout similar to fm08.

i found with the free game that all the other teams only sign three or four players, this makes the next 5 seasons really boring and easy.

i started a fm with a.c milan. signed adler for 13mil, barnetta for 6.5mil and dagostino for 15.75.

Adler has appeared in every mathc except the first and has done reasonably well. barnetta has been sensational scoring 11 and assisting 9. dagostino was probably a dud buy but has recently found some form scoring 3 and assisting 3. pato has been a stand out player as well becuase he has scored 29 goals in 32 appearences. in january i signed rosicky for 4.2 and he has made a few assists for me. and i have recently bought di maria for 6.5

all transfers were in aussie dollars.

The layout makes sense, but it's a pain int he arse to click around all the time.

I know they're releasing a skin that goes back to the old one.

Decided to go back to my Leverkusen save.
Had an epic comeback. First leg against Red Star in the Euro Cup quarter final I lost 2-0 away. I wasn't expecting to go through after the performance we had against them.

I didn't even expect to go through when I had a man down in the 43rd minute. It's good when the engine works this way in your favour :)

In my Brondby game i finished the first season, came second in the league, won the danish cup, got knocked out of the euro cup in the first knockout stage after the group stages by AZ. I got my tactics working so well in the second half of the season, i felt bad doing it because it was almost like cheating. The board cheaped out on me though with the transfer budget for season 2 though with only 130K. I got leonardo pisculichi from Al-Arabi in Qatar on a free and he is amazing. Smashing everyone on the left wing. Also got Luis Guilherme from Botafogo and my 20/20 scout says he'll develop into a leading keeper for league so thats promising. I drew fenerbahce in the 4th qual round of euro cup so thats shit luck, maybe still an outside chance of getting through.

Also, i got the Cameroon job but now ive decided i dont want it, but i cant figure out where theyve hidden the option to resign. Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

I got FM2010 yestersay and absolutely love it, the graphics and touchline shout features are awesome I reckon. The new layout is tough to work out at first but its growing on me.

I took over Manchester United to see what I could do with the Ronaldo money and if I could be succesful without him. So far I have transfered in Di Maria for 4.5, Veloso for 22mil which is way more than I wanted to pay but that was Sportings take it or leave it deal. The weirdest though was David Silva who I offered 30mil for and Valencia wanted 41mil so for shits and gigs I then bid 15 for him and they took it. I havent transfered anyone out yet and still have a fair bit of money to spend.
I dont know whether to strengthen defence or my forward line, both are the same as United's current squad. I have concerns for depth at Lb with only Evra and O'Shea being able to play there.

My first game was a 11-1 victory over my reserves where Owen got a hattrick and Giggs got a hattrick of assists. At the moment Owen has been a star and has 7 goals in 3 matches for me, Welbeck has 6 in 3 and Rooney 4 in 3 while Berba has been disapointing thus far. Im lining up like this atm.

The touchline feature would be great if it didn't take until a break in play to implement. By the time I've told my players to overload them while they've got a man off the pitch injured, they're back on the ground and there's no point to it anymore. That needs to be fixed and it needs to be made instantaneous.

I agree afro but I play an attacking game and I like to be able to se whats working, what isnt and where my opponent is weakest and then being able to target it e/g telling them to attack the flanks, expose the middle, look for the overlap etc.

I know I payed too much for Veloso but he was my first choice and I knew he was the best candidate for what I needed plus I had the money but I feel ripped off because I think you said you got him for about 6.5 didnt you? Although if it was a glitch it was rectified by meing ripping Valencia off when they wanted 41 mil for Silva and I only payed 15

Yeah I got him for 6.5m. You've got to move for him in the first couple of weeks in the game, while his value is still 2.5-3m and Man City haven't had the chance to buy Moutinho off them yet. Let them blow THEIR budget, instead of you getting pushed for yours, they overpay for him whether they need to or not anyway.

15m for Silva is a fair deal. It's about what I'd have paid.

I just won my first piece of silverware in FM10 with an epic win over Chelsea in the Community Shield.
Things started horribly for me as I went down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes both goals coming from Rio Ferdinand errors, first goals was after Ferdinand let Cassano through one on one and Foster saved but the ball was pushed away and landed near Rio who lazily walked towards it to clear but Lampard ran in and smashed it into the empty net, very simmilar thing happened for the second goal too. I made a mistake in selecting my backline by reputation as Brown has been solid throughout pre season.
I was losing the midfield battl, because of my attacking style I decided to go with a more defensive midfield with Fletch and Veloso which was a big mistake as no creative drive was being shown and I was getting destroyed, if it werent for Evans the score would have been alot worse.

At half time I was desperate and used all three subs as I had too because Owen, Fletch and Veloso had picked up knocks. I put Di Maria and Anderson in CM with a more attacking nature intended. Soon Di Maria was ripping it up and his cross was handballed by Terry in the area then Silva convrted. Di Maria was excellent as again he managed to draw three defenders to him before finding Rooney in plenty of space to run home and smash in an equaliser.
Evans who has been a rock all night then nodded home from a Valencia set piece to put me in front before Drogba scored an powerful equaliser at the fault of Ferdinand.
As things look destined for penalties in the 91st minute Angel Di Maria who had been nothing short of brilliant on debut scored an incredible volley from just outside the box after nice link work with himself and Welbeck. 4-3 FT

Finished the season with Leverkusen. Finished 1st on the table by 8 points in front of Dortmund. I lost the Euro Cup final though against Arsenal, 3-0. Qualified for the ECC though this time round. And I'm about to get taken over as well, the chairman doesn't want to be there anymore for some reason, stupid considering the season we had.
We only lost 4 games, I think 3 of them were against lower standard opposition. We only conceded 20. Rene Adler has been magnificent in goals. He kept 35/55 clean sheets.
My 4-3-3 formation worked great. My three best strikers were the bomb:


Bobby Zullo - 17 goals, 8 assists in 37(6) games. He's 18.

Detinho - 14 goals, 13 assists in 35(3) games. He's 31.

Giorgos Giannopoulos - 27 goals, 13 assists in 45(1) games. He's 23. He also got German footballer of the year.


Rene Adler got German Players' Goalkeeper of the Year award. He acknowledged my contribution for it.
Gonzalo Castro got German Players' Defender of the Year award. " "
I got German Manager of the Year award and the German Players' Manager of the Year award.
I had three players in the Team of the Year.

I also have the World Cup coming up with Australia. My first one. Should be epic. I'm not expecting too much though although I have a decent group: Italy, Czech Republic, Senegal. Could maybe get second.

With Brondby, lost at home to Fenerbahce 1-0 but surprisingly managed to win the away leg 3-1. Got put in a group with Roma, Man City and Lokeren so third spot and elimination has my name all over it. GOing well in the league, 3 points off top spot. I'm thinking i'll get into my Southampton game again soon.

I just signed VDV after Madrid offered him for 8 mil, in his first start against Bolton he was amazing, great passing and incredible long range shooting, he scored a long range curler, top corner, in under the cross bar I reckon it was one of the greatest goals scored in my FM career.
I am looking at aqquiring a striker though as Berba is injured for a while so Owen and Rooney are my only top class back up, I was very interested in Oscar Cardozo but I play with a small database and he doesnt show up in that so Im thinking Pandev because he always performs in 09 but he only has finishing attributes of 13, I think its simmilar in 09 too but he is consistently a top scorer in 09.Any recomendations for strikers that could be brought for under 11 mil that have similar skills to Cardozo and Pandev

EDIT Also Owen has six goals in my first four EPL games and Roooney is topping the assist charts with four

Got to the second round of the World Cup, getting knocked out by Brazil 3-0. Had a 2-2 draw with Czech Republic, 3-2 loss to Italy and 2-1 win over Senegal.

Leverkusen has had a takeover as well. My first one, except the message I just got annoyed me:
"New chairman Tim Pieper has thanked you for your patience during what has undoubtedly been a stressful time for those involved with the club. Pieper informs you that there are no plans to provide the club with any investment at this stage"

What the fuck is the point of having a takeover if you don't get any money?! :lol: I need it too. It's going to be hard to compete in the Champions league and win the league back to back with a 36mil budget. Hopefully he'll give me some before the tranfer season ends, in about 1 and a half months. I might have to ask for some though.

yea in all the united squads for the past 3 years, we've only had 3 class strikers so in the games when one gets hit or suspension or form drop happens, your in abit of shit i always try to buy a young gun striker i.e a aguero or a benzema.

In your opinion fredsta is the squad without buying anyone better in FM 09 or 2010?

Haven't posted much about my Leeds save so i'll give a bit of a run down. Into my third season in the EPL, this season has mainly been about consolidating a league position and trying to qualify for Europe. After 30 games where sitting 5th, one point behind Man Utd in 4th. Mario La Manna has been absolutely amazing so far scoring 25 goals in 27 games and Guilano providing 16 assists in 25 games. Been offered numerous jobs throughout the season and eventually decided to accept an offer from the Ivory Coast, hopefully it should be a good challenge, as there is an amazingly high amount of French players who qualify for them, most of my team are French by first nationality.

09 is way better, Tevez and Ronaldo are two of the best players in the game and they havent been replaced in 10 and I personaly think that a few of our players are under rated too but Rooney is better than ever as is Vidic and Carrick.

I did sign Pandev BTW, first game he scored a winner and got MOM but has done fuck all since, Owen is injured and Berba just came back and Im still undefeated with only two draws in 17 games

Just played a fucking annoying game against Dortmund. Their manager was saying how shit we were and how good they were etc. before the game. The only reason they fucking won 1-0 is because they injured half of my team! That was their tactic, go in hard on fucking everyone! That's not playing better, that's dog. So cut right now.

FM2010 really needs some work, the amount of late stupid goals you cop is ridiculous. Chris Samba just smashed a 30 yard curler past Almunia after he was lurking outside the area on a corner, WTF! I copped another when I had my team defending deep and taking less risks and everyone decided to attack the 18 yard box....leaving a striker alone on the halfway line with a free run at goal.
Least I've finally made a 4-3-3 tactic for Arsenal that can get results away from home, although it's average in home fixtures.

yea vidic has been rated highly lately, rooney deserves to be. how bout fletcher and valencia??

look to sign benzema or aguero, expensive yes but quality. the other player i looked for in 08 was edison cavani from palermo, he's a quality player. yea so ours squad's weaker...?:-k :cry:

in my first season with s.c milan i came first on level points with inter, and now i am coming first again, but no 'big' players want to come to me. Maicon is unhappy same with De Rossi and when i scout them or comment on them it comes back with not interested or takes the compliment with a pinch of salt. the same thing happened with jovetic when he was transfer listed and f. melo.

Only one niggle of about 5/6 days, no others after the game but they all got severely weakened into the 70% and 60%'s.

And chelsearbettathanceltic the same thing is happening with me at Leverkusen. Almost every players I scout that is good and I can get has no intention of joining my club. Annoys me.
