Same here has to be minimum 15 of tackling and marking for me but I made an excepetion for Sakho because I have expereince with him in 09 and he ends up one of the best players in the game, I rejected an offer for 60 mil for him from Madrid. He also plays LB and CB but I have been chuckin him in LB and I cant remember what attributes he has for crossing but his crossin abillity has been amazing thus far he got two assists on debut for me against Fiorentina

His crossing in 10 is woeful, about 10. I ended up signing Carlos Matheu for 10m. Which was a little more than I was looking to pay but no big deal. I'm now looking to sign one of Adriano, Hulk or Saviola to help out Forlan and Aguero up front. Though Aguero currently has 26 goals from 24 games this season so I don't think he needs much help at all.

Hulk could always be signed for a bargain in 09, is he still cheap?
I cant believe Skaho only has an atrribute of 10 for crossing because his crossing has been supreb for me. I would have signed him if I were you because there is plenty of room to grow

He's still cheap, but looks like he's going to cost me about 8m which is more than I've got.

PSG also wanted 14m for him, which was more than I had. I've still got to find another striker/winger.

Check out Andres D'Alessandro for a winger. Picked him up for my Celtic side in the demo, and he dominated. Reckon he'd be good enough for Atletico.

Yeah D'Alessandro is quality, I know you have Di Maria in your Liverpool game have you considered him for Atletico too or are they in the same save? Vuckic at Sporting has amazing stats too and plays AM LC, I signed him for 2.8 million in a Fiorentina save I made on the weekend

They're in the same save. I'm looking at one of Vuckic, D'Alessandro is a touch on the old side.

Had a really good second season with Brondby, won the league by 2 points, won the danish cup and pretty amazingly finished behind man city but ahead of roma in the euro cup group but got knocked out by bayern munich in the first knockout stage. In the january transfer window i'd signed ruslan rotan from dnipro and yaser al-qahtani from Al-Hilal. Al-Qahtani tore the league to shreds and absolutely dominated. One of the best performing strikers ive ever had playing for me in FM. But these signings put me 25K over my wage budget. At the end of the season i cleared a shitload of deadwood and had to sell a few of my first-teamers who were on huge wages, then got rid of my transfer budget for more wages and signed some pretty good players on bosmans.
Had a pretty good start to the league, coming second fairly early on and in a champions league group with man city, werder bremen and udinese.

Picked up Vuckic for 5m. I'm not sure yet, but I think that might be a bit of a bargain too. Carvalho and Vuckic on the left, Simao and Rodriguez on the right. Reyes, Rodi, Forlan and Aguero all capable of playing up front. Now all I need to do is consolidate my midfield.

Yes I do afro and re Vuckic for a bargain at 5 that could probably be the case, I havent much experience with him but his stats are amazing for such a small fee and I got him for 2.8

I offered 2.8 and it got rejected, they're a little cagey since I took Veloso off them. So I offered 3.5, rejected. 4m, rejected. Went 5 and they accepted.

I'd like to correct my previous post to read "Vukcevic" :lol: They're all so hard to spell and remember which is which...Vukcevic, Vucinic (who United paid 18.5m for), Vukovic, Vucevic...etc

Agree with you on free transfers unless your playing lower leagues there really isnt much quality there. From memory not many of the better players are even close to expiring either apart from Adriano

i just started a new one with villarreal. the board gave me 13 mil to play with and i sold a couple of players to get to 20 mil. some good cheap players would be good, but the positions i need most are central mid, right back, left or right mid and just back ups for pretty much every position.

I got Angel Di Maria AM LC 3.5m, Simon Vukcevic AM LC 3.5m, Pavel Nehaychik AM RL 500k, Gladstone DC 500k, all are pretty good although haven't played Gladstone yet but his stats are good. All figures are in UK pounds so expect to pay more

In FM09 can anyone explain the eligibility rule for me for the ECC, was just about to start a match and half my team is ineligible, leaving my team decimated and with no chance at all

I'd look at Veloso, Di Maria, Vukcevic, Cardozo, Daniel Carvalho, Carlos Matheu. All of those could theoretically be signed within your 20m budget if you're good.


You'll be playing with the squad that you registered to play, you were given an option back before your game (about two weeks before). Which stage are you up to? Qualifiers or group stage?

Well I guess I have done alright in the transfer market. I got Di Maria for 6 mil, Vukcevic for 6.75 mil, Veloso for 13.5 mil and Filipe from Deportivo for 7.25. I also made a signing outside the window in Michel from Valencia for 1.3 mil. I think i may have too many side mids but Ibagaza and Pires are on their last legs. I also think I might need to buy a new centre defence for Deigo Godin but I have no money for that will have to wait. Another forward in the future, Cardozo may be the won, but he may be a bit too much money soon and a replacement for Angel will be needed soon.

The first two competitive matches for me were against Teplice for the Euro Cup. I easily beat them 3-0 in the home leg and for the away leg we drew 1-1 which was a bit dissappointing.
My first La Liga match was against Real Madrid which i suprisingly lost 2-3 after being down 0-2 after the first 20 minutes. Then we came up against Valladolid and i thought that was going to be a easy win but my team lost 0-2. I think it was my tactics that were not working well so i have changed it around a bit. The next match was against AaB, and a 3-1 away from home which was pleasing to see. Then came Sporting and Llorente had a dreadful game missing many chances and a spot kick, but luckily Nilmar and Ibagaza were on form to take us to a 2-1 victory. Osasuna was next and we had benched Llorente and brought Rossi back into the starting line up and he dominated scroing a hattrick and Vukcevic scoring the other to make it a 4-0 victory. Heerenveen are next in my second group game in the Euro Cup

Just lost my first match in FM10 to Man City in the League Cup quarter finals, absolutely gutted and it came after I just broke the clubs record for longest winning streak in all competitions

So I completed the deal for Vukcevic...but now Barca are sniffing around my team and watching my transfers so I have to be careful that they don't hijack any future deals.

They were interested in a player in mu U19's team that I didn't even know existed...turns out he's awesome. Sebastian Gallegos, 17 years old. Looks promising at the very least, hopefuly he develops as I give him game time.

If I can be bothered I am considering creating a league that is kind of like a World Champions League type thing. At the moment I am thinking of having the following teams.
Two Australian teams, one entirely of Socceroos and the other a world football allstars team
Two Spanish teams one based in Madrid with a mixture or Real and Atletico players plus other national stars like Torres. The other a Catalan club modeled on Barca.
One English team of an EPL 11 and a British team coniststing of English, Irish, Scotish, Welsh, Nth Irish etc
An Asian team with quality imports
A World football all star team based in USA
Two Italian teams a mixture of Inter and AC Milan players for a Milan team and a Rome team with other national stars and Serie A imports
One South American dream team
A Russian team
Euro all star team based in Greece and possibly more

Havent updated in awhile but am up to my third season in league one with Barnet (fourth overall), I am expected to finish away from the relegation zone (which we have done quite easily the past two seasons). My board wont allow a stadium expansion due to the council so I am stuck with a 5000 capacity ground, so it means the only way I can actually start making money is buy bringing in players on frees and selling them, I feel its going to take quite a few seasons to get enough cash behind us to warrant either the expansion or a new stadium being built - for the new stadium to be built I think we would have to be at least in the championship. Anyone got any tips on getting some more cash into the club - besides from arranging friendlies and winning cups?

Wading my way through the January transfer window. Don't know what to do about strengthening the Liverpool squad. I think I'll sign Gladstone to replace Kyrgiakos.
