Milan Stepanov seemed happy to come to me in the CCC so I think you'd be able to get him.

Well, Iganeshevich has turned me down even though I was offering him Key Player status, Muniesa I'm currently scouting and Dynamo Kiev are asking for 14.5M for Stepanov. I'm currently in negotiation with a Tunisian defender though who's at 1860 Munich. Should be a good pick up. Radhouane Felhi is his name, 27, can play at right back too. Shouldn't cost me too much either which is positive.
I'm still tuning Otamendi though. :p

I just got a right bollocking in the knockout stage of the Europa League. Played Aston Villa, 1-1 at home, then 1-1 away before extra time. Keeper did an outstanding job to keep us in it. Villa went ahead in the first period of extra time, I threw more men forward and ended up losing the leg 4-1. Seems I'll need some better defenders if I'm going to be competitive in Europe.

Take a look at Juan Forlin, Tomislav Barbaric and Dario Knezevic.
I forgot what team it was that you were managing?

Ah, no wonder he can't make any fucking signings with a reputation like that.
I'd recomment looking through the eastern european teams and their youth teams for any potential talent.

Finally landed a central defender. A Croatian regen, 2M, about as good as what I already have, but has a bit more potential. I'm pretty happy with the squad now, although my Belarussian midfielder has gotten all pissy and wants to leave. I'm very tempted to let him if he's going to carry on. So I have a decent line-up to the tune of: Alejandro Dominguez - Fedor Smolarov Alan Gatagov - Cicero - Luke Wilkshire - Alan Kasaev Ruslan Nakhushev - Josip Omrcen-Ceko - Alexander Song - Anry Khagush Sergey Ryzhikov Although I've got quite a few player to fill in all of the positions so it's going to chop and change a lot.

That player is awesome, Gooner. He'd be an awesome A-League signing. I'll remember him for in the future. Quote:everytime i listened to pre match advice meeting, i almost lost the game.... I just lost the game. I find that the most useful advice in there is the formation they're weakest against. Occasionally the defensive line helps you to work out how they take the ball forward and which striker they use more but that's about all that's really useful there.

ha ha, toninho's just scored and added an assist inside the first 11 minutes of debut \:d/
2-0 palmeiras against santos
edit: wagner love makes it 3-0 with 13 minutes gone after a great through ball \:d/
edit 2: FUCK! toninho's gone off with a potential foot injury
and finally edit 3: full time, 3-0, only downside, toninho out for between 7 weeks and 2 months

Second full season in charge of Napoli brings the goods. Won Serie A fairly easily, only lost 1 match, and that was the 2nd last match of the season, when the title was already wrapped up. Won the Italian Cup too, and made it to the Semi's of the ECL. Clear strength of the side is our attack, Balotelli, Hamsik, Knife and McMahon(Regen) finished with 73 goals between them.
About to take Brazil to the Copa America. Thank god for some official matches, getting tired of picking a squad for friendlies, only to have Barcelona withdraw players.

cleiton xavier has returned from injury with a bang, well, more like an explosion
i acheived my first ever 10.0 rating for a player in a match as cleiton xavier scored 5 goals from midfield in a 7-0 thrashing of monte azul \:d/

So after choosing my squad for the Copa America last night, a process which was fairly in depth, I load up FM this morning, to discover that the entire squad has reset. Half the players there aren't the ones I chose, not to mention, it has no wingers at all. Balls. Just going to holiday though it now.

Holidayed Brazil into the final, and lost 2-0 to Argentina. Was first for our recent 'awful' performances. Brazil, Fuck you.

I've had the same rpoblem when managing Englang with United pulling out Rooney. I just stopped selecting him full stop. It gets to a point where you find a system that you can work around without them and you don't need them anymore. I'm dawdling through my season at the moment, waiting for the transfer window to open and for Albin and Bale to arrive. Gourcuff is unhappy and wants out, I reckon I can manage a profit off him but I don't know where to strenghten my squad.

Just wrapped up an aggregate 7-2 win over Chelsea in the ECL quarter final. We had a narrow and lucky home 3-2 win and then I blitzed them 4-0 away. The team had been playing awfully in the lead up so I decided to mix things up and introduce Sakho for Evra and Evans for Ferdinand and it worked wonders. The 4-0 scoreline was flattering as Cheslea had more shots and more chances than I did but it was the sort of performance you find faultless.
Every single player did his job to perfection, Foster pulled off 16 saves, Vidic kept Drogba to one shot, Evans cleared two shots off the line. Fletcher is the heart of my midfield, he was everywhere, anchoring midfield, shielding the defenders, initiating counter attacks and even getting on the end of through balls which led to the third goal. Villa is an sbolute certainty for WPOTY, 41 appearances for 47 goals and plenty of assists, his positioning and link up with Rooney is exceptional.

epic campaign with palmeiras in the sao paulo state championship, just won the final against santos 4-3 on aggregate. we won the first leg 3-0 but were defeated for the first time all season in the second leg 3-1.
went through the competition scoring 51 goals (the highest in the league) and conceding only 9 (the lowest). vagner love was the leagues top scorer with 16 goals, while cleiton xavier was easily best player scoring 15 goals with 5 assists from midfield, and literally half his goals were screamers from 30 yards

But that can't be right though, surely? Plenty of other leagues to manage in tho. Edited by Anchor Man (Defend): 27/7/2010 05:30:34 PM

The HG thing doesn't worry me its the capped squads that I hate dealing with in FM, its not much of an obstacle its just annoying

It just seems unfair when the Aleague squads are capped at 23, EPL clubs have a season 11 games longer but get a measly 2 extra players (presumably without any injury waiver copout).
Having said that it'll probably cause bigger problems irl than in FM though.

Just had one of the most epic games I've ever played. Too bad there wasn't really anything riding on it.
Took over Ipswich after resigning from AC. Wanted a challenge again, bringing up a small team, etc. They were in the drop zone in CCC.
First game drew 0-0 with Notts, followed by a 2-1 victory, and a thumping 4-0 win over Charlton. There is A LOT of deadwood in the squad, can't wait till January.
So, next game was away to Fulham, who were clear on the top of the table.
Things started just how I expected them to - I was down 0-2 inside 8mins. Chris Wood and my starting RM were both away with NZ too, which didn't help.
Then went 0-3 down on 22mins. At this point it was just damage control.
Managed to keep it at 0-3 until HT. After HT switched to a narrow 4-1-2-1-2. Started looking better.
71mins... Pulled it back to 1-3. Nick Dyke () with the goal 73mins... Scored again, now 2-3. Sean Scannell with his first goal for the club. 75mins... Levelled it up at 3-3! Sergio, the man I brought in on loan.
Managed to hold on and steal a point. \:d/ \:d/ \:d/ So stoked.
