4 wins from 5 games to start the season with Liverpool, only loss being a 5-1 shellacking by Spurs. Won my 3rd round qualifying match in the Champions League 3-0 against Spartak Moscow on aggregate, then beat Sporting 2-0 at Anfield in my first group game.

Was tempted to sell Sissoko for 10m pounds to Real, but his strong start persuaded me to keep him. Sold Pennant for about 6m to Citeh and signed Marin and Kjaer for about 250k each. Nearly got Hazard as well, but after agreeing a deal with Lille, he turned my deal down to stay in France. Looked at buying Milner, Jeremy Menez or Quaresma, as I needed a stronger winger than Kewell, but none of their clubs would sell them. Eventually, plumped for Iago from Barca for 10 million. Over priced, but he's only 19 and all the scouts wer eof the opinion he must be signed at all costs, so i'm hoping he comes good. Next transfer window, I'll look to offload either Mascherano or Lucas, as I have 4 DM's, more than I need tbh.

I always get Perrier-Doumbe and Babayaro as strong full backs for a lower league side, try to pick up a good goalkeeper on loan (Ross Turnbull or someone is usually a good option) and spend all my cash on getting a good striker. They usually have adequate enough midfields at that level but are poor at the back and up front.

Just finished a season with Liverpool. We had a very disappointing October and November dropping down to 15th before slowly scrapping our way back to finish 7th.
The biggest problem during the season was discipline. We conceded a penalty in pretty much every league match. 26 out of the 53 we conceded in the league were from penalties.

Just leave a squad spot free and it should work, gooner. Had the same problem with my Vaduz team... except none of my first team are trained at the club, and only five of them in Switzerland itself, so I had to leave four spots free. Certainly pissed off some of my fringe first-teamers....

Yeah, just leave free spaces. Every free space counts as a HG player or whatever.

Naturally, don't even bother giving u-19/u-21 players (depending on competition) a squad number at all, no matter how good they are - it's just a waste.

Yep, happens all the time. I like to have a surfeit of quality CM's for exactly that purpose. Rotate the shit out of those positions.

Can't say I've ever had that problem. My 3 Central Midfield positions (2xMC with either a AMC or DMC), tend to all have different roles, so I don't really have 2 of them interfering with each other.

I like to play a 4-4-2 diamond so I rarely do either, but whenever I play a midfield pairing of any sort it tends to happen.

Just like sometimes strikers don't play well with others (Lukaku the main example of this) and you have to either put them with somebody different and possibly not with the better stats or put them up front alone.

Always made sure I had good cover at DM, but that was mainly for suspensions :lol: Annan at Twente and Fernando at Lazio always got themselves suspended many times.

Fuck... makes me miss FM, just thinking about how good the team was that I built at Lazio.
