Question is, what do I define as Glasgow. Got a player here who was born in Lennoxtown, which is where we train, but looking at it on the map, I'm not sure if that would count as glasgow or not. I need to figure out boundaries :p

Lennoxtown is in East Dunbartonshire, which is a part of greater Glasgow.

Does google maps let you set a radius like that? And what do you define as "within 30 miles of Glasgow"? From the border? Or from the city center?

EDIT: I set the radius from the little dot that appears under the word Glasgow, when you zoom out to a certain distance. Seemed to be around the centre.

My youth intake has been shit the past few seasons, don't know why, the facilities are high standard, we've been winning heaps. Only got 4 players with any sort of decent potential, 3 of them fall within the Glasgow Radius. There'd be others in the team that do as well, but they're not going to make the first team squad anyway.

I'd be interested to see how people are doing with the new youth intake...I've only got 12 actual players in my U18's teams.

I generally let my ass man decide on who gets signed. And most of the time he'll sign a bunch to 'fill out numbers'.

I only really get one or two players that have the potential to make the 1st team and every year they are the same position.

I sign anyone who looks like they might have some chance in the future, then let the rest go and bring in a new lot. Keep costs down while trying to find some talent without the player search etc. (I'm a LLaMa so it's just scouts and youth intake that make up new signings.)

Yeah, I never had any good ones in the intake. That said, my U19s are fucking epic because I signed a lot of top European talent.

Currently 17 games, 17 wins, 44 for, 2 against. U19s killing it. Just got through January, about half the team got bids from big teams. Up to like 1mil as well. Loving it.

Rooney had a 30 hour drought in one game I played. Pissed me right off.

Managing Brighton, derby against the Palace scum. 1st minute, Jedinak 1-0. 9 minutes later, Ambrose 2-0. Fuck that. 12 minutes gone, Barnes 2-1. 15 gone, MacKail-Smith 2-2. 17 minutes on the clock and Barnes pops up again to make it 3-2 to us. 5 goals in the opening 17, I cannot believe what's going on!! :lol: \:d/

As for the rest of the match Palace equalised in the 50th minute and Harley missed a penalty for us in the 84th and we also hit the post three times :x So yeah, the rest of the game was pretty shitty and it ended 3-3.

Making a slight change to my plans. Sticking with the 30 Mile Radius of Glasgow plan, but realised that 90% of those players are going to come through my youth setup, if they're gonna be good enough. Which means it's sorta pointless restricting myself now, to a UK/Ireland squad. Especially when it's restricting my signings, meaning lower quality, meaning worse results, meaning not as good youth intake.

Long story short, going back to my old squad, but still with the aim of recreating the Lisbon Lions.

Oh and, I'm in 2014. 10 mil budget. Can somebody recommend a striker and a RB?

I was disappointed with my first season at Karlsruhe even though we got promoted to the Bundesliga. We were sitting 13 points clear at the Christmas break. In January I mistakenly sold my best striker and my chairman sold my left winger and my best centre back. The players I replaced them with turned out to be shit or repeatedly got injured and I couldn't win a game for 10 weeks and it became a struggle to finish second.

Perth still don't have a manager a year after I left them but still won the league and final series.

If you were doing it earlier in the game you could probably put together a UK team quite easily. It probably gets harder the further in you go.

So I did some scouting. Scouted every Scottish player 21 years and under, with 50k+ value, who my Ass Man thinks would be a realistic transfer. 108 players.
