Currently 12th given I took the team from Round 10 when they had been demoted the season before from BS National I'm exceeding expectations. Technically I'm expected to finish mid-table, but keep getting reports of exceeding expectations.
Considering axing half my squad at the end of the season, bringing through mostly youth. One major bummer is I can't really sign any foreigners because I can't get international work permits.
Getting even more increasingly fustrated in this save. Have 4 strikers, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from a yard, even if they were offered a trillion bucks. Have brought in 2 new strikers during the season, both recommended by my scouts: An Irish lad by the name of Harry Crawford. 3 goals in 16 league appearancs, 3/18 in total. Connor Taylor: Local English lad. Supposedly our 'star striker' and the striker who is the "benchmark" for my scouts/assistant coaches when signing strikers. Working off a fantastic strike rate of 23 league games for the return of 7 goals. 9 from 29 in all comps. So half way through the season I'm scrolling through the free transfers list, and I come across this Columbian guy who was just released by Tottenham reserves 'Victor Zapeta-Caicado'. According to the information I'm provided he's the best thing for me since sliced bread, will rip this league a new one, supposedly should get 25 goals by the end of the season, he's 3 and a half stars better then my best striker Connor Taylor, yadda yadda yadda. So I throw him a 2-week trial, and he excels. So I sign him up: 16 games later. Fantastic return of 0 goals. Jesus motherfucking titty Christ. He's supposedly quick, but constantly gets out-run to long balls by defenders, and I now know why there's no crowd behind my goalposts. Too many of the fans were copping shots that sailed wide/over the cross bar. While I just beat Bath 2-0 (a double from my Norwegian defensive midfielder whose currently my highest goalscorer on 7 goals - that's right DM) I think I'm going to cull the entire team bar 5 or 6 players and just re-build. If it weren't for the fact we could score 5 or more goals a game, but we don't I'd find him amusing.

I've played 4 home games so far this season with Victory. All 4 have ended with our opponents down to 10 men.

Hope he can knock a few more in in the last 3 rounds.

So I just broke United's record for biggest EPL win... But I think I've seen the worst rating ever. Yes, that says "Michael Almeback 0.1" Edited by afromanGT: 30/4/2012 11:28:09 PM

Antoine Griezmann (Y) Antoine Griezmann had 5 assists in that game  Signed him in 2014 for 21m...he's now worth 31.5. Absolute superstar. Almeback gave away 2 penalties, had 1 back-pass intercepted by Suarez, which was crossed in for Parris to score and a second pass was run onto by Aguero which went into the back of the net. His stats were entirely unremarkable 10/19 passes, 2/2 tackles, 5/7 headers, 2 fouls (both pens).

Ladder at the top is the 2012/13 season, with Ange in charge. Ladder at the bottom is the 2013/14 season, my first in charge.

That is an epic turn-around. Did you have to make many signings?

Got beat 3-1 on agg by Mariners in the Semi, and then lost 4-2 to Adelaide in the Prelim. Still, massive over achievement, and still qualified for ACL.

I still maintain that the ACL with the A-League is the easiest leg of the Pentagon as long as you know where to look.

Just ripped up my contract with Lewes. Led them to 9th in the first season, 6 places higher then what was predicted, exceeded expectations, happy to stay on, until the board came to me and said we'll re-sign you, Buuuuut you're gonna work for free. I was on the cheap, accepting 500 a week, but they weren't having any of it. So I did what Graham Arnold's about to do.

I've decided to stay with Lewes for the meantime after further negotiation with the board. I'm on $0 a week, but I've cut spending on the wage budget, and this off-season I'm going to be recruiting a lot of youth. I have faith in this team, I want to be able to take them to higher places, hopefully League 2/1 area. I've also taken on the Syrian U/23s role. I've noticed a lot of Norwegian and Swedish sounding names in their lineup.

Done some more wheeling and dealing, ended up with the above squad. pretty pleased. only real weakness is the Right side, but I think Davies is ready for the step up. In one of the more ridiculous moments of my FM career, nearly had Victor fucking Valdes signed on 7k a week. But Jedi and Lorentzen had taken up my Marquee spots. 7k for a ~World Class keeper.

That sounds like a very lucky piece of business. Game against United, I lost four players to injury. I still think you need to be able to accuse the opposition manager of dirty tactics.

The largest wage I can remember being offered was turning down $21,000,000 (Australian) a season to manage Malaga.

Got offered a job straight away at FCAK in the South African First Division. A couple of weeks after I was hired, a consortium took over the club. I was thinking that they would give me some more money to spend, but no. Instead I was told that I might lose my job after only just getting it. Well, fuck. On the plus side, had a brilliant pre-season: Also released twelve players and brought in three on free transfers.
