Americans linked with Anfield takeover

Two American billionaires have been linked with a £100 million move to take control of Liverpool.
According to the News of the World, the club has lined up a deal with the Rhone Group to dilute the ownership of controversial Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

The New York-based private equity firm has begun due diligence with a view to buying around a 40 per cent stake in the club.

The £100m deal would see controlling interest pass to billionaire financiers Robert Agostinelli and Steven Langman.
