State league teams (but only a selection of them) have a national league status and a rich history conected to them. The A-League is 5 years old and is growing this same history within clubs. In 50 Years no one will care who has a beter history because we'll all be dead and rottening.
you may be cut that you never got the chance to stay in the Nation league and you may look down on people for supporting a stte league team, but We are all football supporters who love Football. settle it like Hools off of the pitch and off of the internet.
no one likes an Internet warrior. I dont bash the a-league. I dont care enough to bash it. Good luck to the clubs and the league. I couldnt care less. I only worry about my club and its survival I am not cut about not participating in the National League. My club didnt bother applying because we knew that our time at the top was up and that any further participation at a national level would lead to a very quick death. Dropping to the state leagues has kept us alive and will hopefully keep us alive for a very long time. I'm not that one-eyed and stupid to think that we DESERVE to be in the A-League and that it is our rightful place and all that rubbish. The only problem I have is with people who dismiss anything pre-2005 and act as though football in Australia started with the a-league. As for my comments about peoples club choices... Again, I have no problem with people who decided to support Sydney/Melbourne/whoever when the league started up. My issue is with those who then abandon the club and support another one completely out of convenience. Why bother calling yourself a fan of any club at all? Why not just attend matches as a neutral "football fan"
