Ok so many of you on here have called me a moron, an illiterate etc.

Now let me ask all the brain surgeons around here a serious question.

SBS don’t have football on tele no more (champions league is on espn, I mean exclusive telecast to live football matches from OZ) and we need football on free to air and if we had the state league and a-league on free to air omg we would definitely but up there for annihilating the other codes.

Now guys all together as soccer loves how can we conjure a way to get SBS to show 1 match a week from the VPL and NSWPL.

Now no negative responses as it won’t work this and that I want solutions and answers.

It would rate we know that for one

Sponsorship space would be sold we know that for two

It would benefit the game we know that for three

Now I ask for the final time how can we make this happen?

I don't think this would ever happen, while the A-league isn't on FTA. I don't think the FFA would ever let the 2nd tier of football get on to FTA before their premier competition.

Ok first of all solympic you get a =d> =d> for not attacking the A-League and for once not being a general douche.

Now seriously the best way to try and get this to happen would be like Joffa said to get a petition going. Get into contact with all 12 NSWPL clubs to see if they would be interested in a petition. Get the petition around at games to the supporters of the competition.

Then once you've got the petition you contact Football NSW and SBS.

ok lets start a FFT petition, lets give FFT the chance to have an achievement as a media channel making a difference.

We can then send it to the clubs, fans, governing bodies, etc.

QUESTION TO FFT: Would FFT be interested in creating this petition? As requested by its readers and the reason for the petition is stated above.

I think the petition is a good start, but depending on how dedicated you are another angle would be to talk to TVS and get them broadcasting Matches, as a community Sydney based channel it is in their interest to promote and show these games.

Once a basic ratings number can be shown on the popularity these shows are often picked up (look at the Man show on 10). It would take a lot of dedication but is a completely viable option if you can get the people together to film the matches.

Otherwise building a Facebook/Myspace/bebo pages and once you have 1000 members you begin an email campaign and make sure you have members from more than just Olympic as you need the depth of the league.

Creating a standard proforma of what is to be sent as in

To The World Game,

IMy name is _______ and I am a supporter of _____________. I fell that it is time that SBS's TWG programme begun showing live matches of the VPL and NSWPL as these competitions Blah blah blah.

Also it would be a good idea to get in touch with club officials (for Olypmic the backing of Bozza would be great) and get them on board and backing your petition. Also they would be able to increase sponsorship for the TV advertisement.

Productive disscussion, I'm loving it.

SBS were looking into televising both the NSWPL and VPL prior to this season starting - they confirmed it over the telephone to a fellow forumite... Then all of a sudden they pulled the pin.

I'd assume that either:
a) the price asked by the state leagues was too high; or
b) the FFA somehow quashed the deal

We all know that Les Murray would love nothing more than to show 'traditional' clubs, and that this content - particularly the 'classic' match-ups with Olympic, Marconi, United, and SMFC and Knights, etc., would provide plenty of opportunity for Les and co to talk about the old days.

Think youll find that FNSW might actually be against it...

Not sure what the deal is behind the scenes with FNSW and SBS though

FNSW might also be a bit hesitant to show games FTA when most clubs are already struggling to get fans through the gate. You could argue that some FTA coverage will increase interest in the league but I dont know if they see it that way

There is limited coverage on FTA already with the Superstars of Tomorrow show being aired on OneHD

The FFA have little to no control over FNSW

If FNSW and SBS both wanted it to happen then it would happen
