Dedicated athletes from across Sydney and the Central Coast are in the running to win a $2000 cash prize. The winner of the 2010 Parramatta Advertiser Junior Sports Star will receive $1000 and a medal. Our winner will then be in the running for the Cumberland-Courier Medal, the recipient of which will receive another $1000. The 2010 awards will again include the Young Achiever Award, with youngsters vying to win $500. now this is grass roots, good story for football and as many lebanesse australians has swung to rugby league stories like this are fantastic.
But once again this is a grass roots story.
Woolworths grass roots policy and donations of 3 million dollars to spot in the country stop grants for under 13's year olds.
Dont understand how second tier football is grass roots.

Grassroots is just a name, to refer to the section of the forum for discussion about football beneath the A-League.
Put it this way, do you think that the discussion in Extra Time should only be about matches that go into Extra Time?

but you must understand extra time is used as a pun and fits the bill
Grass roots is degrading name for NSWPL AND VPL clubs and make's people believe that the a-league is the only part of football were there are spectators, which is far from the case.
Grass roots refers to academies, training, children under 16 etc.

That would depend on how it was set up, and entirely up to 442. But I would assume it would go into Australian Football.

thats my point funky munky if b-league would go in australian football section, then the state leagues of NSWPL and VPL are the second divisions as we stand and they should be in australian football to.

You're comparing two different things though. As it stands, the NSWPL and VPL are not a second division to the A-League. There's barely any link between them at all. Hence the difference.

The result (of putting State League issues in Grassroots) perpetuates the them and us mentality. For me GrassRoots = junior football.

State Leagues are not Nation. Therefore they aren't "Australian" they are NSW or Vic or whatever, and go here. This has been discussed before.
We don't want VPL or NSWPL clogging up the Australian Football forum.

Even if said threads go into Australian Football, there is still very much a "us versus them" mentality from both camps. Difference is, when they are in here, the threads don't turn to shit so quickly.

Whatever! I still don't think it right.
Melbourne Victory from Victoria, not national therefore should be in grass roots, therefore all Australian Football should be about National Team only. According to your logic.
