All it will take is a result against either of the two big teams and Ivory Coast can sneak into the round of 16. Looking at their African Cup of Nations squad, I can say the following: - They lack a quality goal keeper - The rest of their team will be made up of players from the top flights of the EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, with enough quality to cause an upset against any team. - Their players are nearly all around the 28 y.o mark, so this team will have its best chance to win this year before the new generation has to step up. - They are the only team to have never been shut out (held scoreless) in world cup matches. The reality is that Ivory Coast will most likely get edged out by BRA and POR in the group stages. They are potential tournament winners (If Football Manager has taught me anything about the Ivory Coast), but they'll need to hit the ground running to get out of their group.

Not too bad. They're capable of causing an upset or two with the likes of Eto'o, Song, Bassong, Makoun etc. As scouse_roar said, they should get out of the group but I'm a bit concerned about the lack of attacking firepower after Eto'o. Reasonably happy overall, though.:)
