Is It Time To Write Off The Germans For The World Cup?

There is a famous saying in football and it goes something like this ‘You Can Never Write Off The Germans’. Despite this famous saying everyone seems to be writing off the Germans once again for the World Cup 2010 and that could be a costly mistake.

People have been saying Germany are not the team they once were and that much is probably true, in the past their team has been full of world class stars such as Jurgen Klinsmann, Andreas Moller, Franz Beckenbauer and so on. Now their stars are players like Bastian Schweinsteiger and although he is no bad player, he is certainly not in the class of his predecessors.

Everyone wrote Germany off at Euro 2008 and they still reached the final, eventually being beaten by the favourites in the World Cup Betting this year, Spain. At the 2006 World Cup Germany finished third, again going out to the eventual winners of the tournament Italy, and it took extra time to see of Germany on that occasion. Even in 2002 they reached the final, Brazil beat them on that occasion.

So it pretty much takes a special performance to knock out the Germans and in qualifying they proved they are as solid and efficient as ever, remaining unbeaten for the entire campaign. However good or bad you may think Germany are they remain perhaps the hardest team to beat in the World, yet the Germany World Cup Odds suggest they are probably only going to get to the quarter finals this year, they are surely worth a bet.
