Well put Pim, good to see you handled things better than Frances coach. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Pim: The Hardest Calls In The World? SOCCEROOS coach Pim Verbeek has admitted last weekend was one of his toughest in the job, as he personally told the players who didn't make the World Cup squad.Have your say.

Ha, wait until you have to tell the eight whose hopes you've got up that they're not wanted...

I dont think Sasha is worried too much about Serbia as Macedonia are not in the world cup.

I would think that Kilkenny was definitely one of the ones who were close.
He will get his chance if he keeps his form and doesn't get injured. Championship next year another step up. Ageing midfielders in the current setup and I'm sure Kilkenny will be part of the next gen

Quote:Despite being already in preparation mode for next week's friendly clash with New Zealand, where his fringe players will get their last chance to impress, Verbeek said he was happy to assist Parkerville's work and its building of an advocacy centre that offers immediate support for abused children.
"I think this is a fantastic foundation, a fantastic project and I'm more than happy to be here and spend time and energy for the people over here," Verbeek said.
"And, I hope they will enjoy my stay over here and I will tell them some nice stories." Woh, Parkerville as in Perth - It certainly seems so as there's a Children's home there! So Pim was not only in Perth, but in Perth's Eastern Metro/Hills area - wow, had no idea till this article! And good on him for supporting the Children's Home. :)

Can't believe *I* am the first to point out that the front page banner has been saying "Word Cup dreams" all day and no-one pointed it out to me...!
Hopefully Jon or Ben will change the banner for a different story before anyone else notices...
Oh.
EDIT: Fixed. So much for crowd-sourced subbing, eh??

Here is Joel Griffiths reaction http://www.smh.com.au/sport/football/thanks-for-nothing-pim-griffiths-20100514-v4f2.htmlWith piss poor attitudes like Griffiths has and his undignified and arrogant comments, who would want poison like him anywhere near the NT? As far as never given a go, how did he fare against Ghana? Not great, at least not as great as he thinks he is
