Yeh, because other WC teams would line up to fly to the other side of the planet to play Australia's farewell match... Pfft. It was a perfect fixture for our farewell, and now we can get on to the serious warm-ups in SA. It's weird to think I'll be at the Oz-Denmark game... It seems like an impossible distance away.

Yep - the fact that thousands of people are not flying into Melbourne on Monday night to see this match is because we are all anti-FFA pricks.

I am mostly an ardent and quite public supporter of the FFA. They have got this one completely wrong though. That they won't draw sell-out (or even half of one) in the most sports mad city in Australia for the WC farewell match sucks yes. But the market doesn't lie.

Typical Sydney fan - consigned to the fact that it's going to be a sh*t crowd, without actually getting off their arse and going to the game.

I also don't get why people constantly feel the need to belittle the FFA - although it's generally people who -

1) Are too young to remember pre-2004
2) Don't care about the immense, immense work the FFA has done
3) People who follow an A-League team, are involved in the game somehow themselves, go to all the exhibition matches pre-season, follow the Socceroos, watched the Uruguay Playoff in Nov, 2005, watched the last world cup, get swept up in World Cup Fever in Australia - In short, just some of what the FFA is responsible for - but are still bitter c*nts, and feel the need to belittle the organisation.

It defies belief.

Agree - hard to get excited about this match. If we beat them 3-zip, everyone will nod sagely and move on. Anything else will be picked apart for faults sending everyone from Foz to Rebecca Wilson into a terminal tizz. The crowd will reflect that we are playing an A-league quality side and will be accordingly A-league in size. Hopefully Pim learns what he needs to know about the 8 or so players that are vieing for the 3 or so spots left in the final squad. That will be nice.

But really, WTF were the FFA thinking. Really...

Yeah yeah yeah, There's something seriously wrong with Aus if we loose.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Neill Expecting Tough Tests?
SOCCEROO skipper Lucas Neill expects tonight's friendly against New Zealand to be the first of three stern warm-up tests for Pim Verbeek's men ahead of the World Cup.

Have your say.
