We can only hope he beats Lolman to the cut. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Vidosic Awaits His Fate? DARIO Vidosic is giving everything he has in the battle for a spot in Pim Verbeek's World Cup 23 but accepts the boss knows best in the final reckoning.Have your say.

Does anyone really think Vidosic is going to miss out? He was one of our better players against NZ and is one of the more versatile players we have in the squad. I can't see him not being in the 23 at all.

I think he should go he hasben solid every gae he has play not to mention he will be around for 2014 and 2018 we need him to go. But he seems level headed not wanting to assume just because a few good games in the Green and Gold will make him a certain in the 23.

Obviously Lowry, Oar, Galekovic and Holland will all be out. That leaves only one other name.
I reckon it's Garcia.

I would'nt be surprised if the final cut was either Jedinak or Valeri.

The final cut will be Garcia. Think about it how many options do we have to play on the right. There's Emerton, Wilshere(if needed), Bresciano, Vidosic, Holman and then there's Garcia. Out of those Garcia is at the bottom of the pecking order so therefore shouldn't make the cut because he's not really needed.

I reckon it's Garcia. I think it will be between Milligan and Garcia. However, I expect Lowry to be picked ahead of Carney. Carney cannot play LB and we need better cover at LB in case Chippers is injured or is needed to push forward. Valeri and Jedinak will both go especially after the poor pefromance by both Culina and Grella against NZ as screeners. Defence is the key to Pims plans - he won't skimp on DMs - same as Lowry over Carney.

Can't see Pim of all people throwing him into the mix at this stage. Didn't even get a trot out against New Zealand. There's no evidence to suggest that Lowry will be picked ahead of Carney. Carney is fine though. Not the greatest defensively but when you've got either Kewell or Bresc -- two blokes who couldn't track back in defence if their lives depended on it in front of you -- you're going to have a tough day at the office. Especially because Carney is expected to bomb forward so often. Chippers has just been so good over the years we've forgotten how much running he actually does in this team. Chippers will start if fit.

SPOT ON jmars the last spot is between GARCIA OR HOLMAN. DARIO VIDOSIC will make it as HE can fill so many options.

Vido will go. I have no doubt about it. I like him too. Good value on the pitch, though he needs to learn to release the ball a little earlier sometimes

How can you even try and say it's between Garcia or Holman? I would bet any amount of money that if Holman is not injured, he will be in the 23, and most likely in all game-day squads.
It will be a shame to see Garcia miss out, but I imagine it will be him. He's the only one that may/may not make it playing in a position that is easily covered by definate players.

HOLMAN will only be in the SQUAD BECAUSE PIM Loves Him. Lets Face It - His SOCCEROO FORM HAS BEEN VERY,VERY POOR. It Is a BIG STEP UP From CLUB FOOTBALL to INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL!( JUST ASK Nicky Carle and Scott McDonald ).

Garcia will be cut (along with Holland, Oar, Lowry and Galekovic) - can't see him getting game time over the other options in the squad. Anyone who reckons Holman will be left out is dreaming. Vidosic (like Milligan) is safe because of his versatility.

Deserves his spot. One of the few younger guys that doesnt look caught in the spotlights at all when hes on the field. Id assume he'll see game time too.

pfft he knows he in. Arguably made the most impact on the national team of the next generation of players.
Oar, Lowry, Garcia, Holland and Galekovic dont stand a chance of making pim's squad..the fact he didnt take mcdonald shows he is gonna play the same system with the same players no matter what happens.

I think Garcia is a big chance not only stay but also get game time...he is an EPL quality player and a proven goalscorer...he is the type of midfield/striker Pim will be looking to bring on late when we are chasing games. If he was to be cut then he would have been cut before MacDonald.

I actually like garcia as a player but his form hasnt changed drastically as of late and pim has barely ever(if ever?) called him up to the squad before now so dont see why anything would have changed. Can't see him making it over vidosic or holman for the backup attacking midfield positions realistically and can see pim wanting to keep the depth in defensive midfielders and defenders currently in the squad given the age/injury problems.

Pim got us to the World Cup and Asian Cup, so he has done his job. He has played boring football and used the same squad that Guus blooded back in 06. My problem is that we as a developing football country and need a super coach who can gain the team entry to these world events and also blood new up and coming players.
Pim has just not done this. He has played a boring, bland style of football and used the same player, same style every game. Is there no good up and coming players? Maybe thats Pims reason for his selection. However we are going to struggle to make brazil needs WC and we need a massive coach to get us there while blooding youngsters.

Has a team at the wc ever used it's third string keeper?. Never really understood why every team takes 3/4 keepers from a 23 man squad? Would rather take a big risk and take 2 keepers and instead take an extra striker/am in the squad, well this time anyway!. Vido should go I think

What if your main keeper got injured at training. You going to go to a game with no keeper on the bench?

I don't think Dario could have done much more to put himself in contention and he'd be in my 23. He's got the confidence and ability to take players on and his passing is quality too. Given game time I reckon he'll shine.

He's a possibility to miss I THINK. But after the NZ I do believe he has ingle handedly put the pressure onto other players.
