Roberto Baggio in 1990 taking on the entire Czech team to score a fantastic individual goal.

In the "All the goals of Italy 90" VHS that I've watched a billion times with Les Murray narrating, thereafter in the rest of the video, any other goal that was remotely similar was referred to "a Baggio type goal"

The Divine Ponytail had arrived (and also got in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest transfer fee at the time of 18M or something)

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article 20 Things We Love About The World Cup - Individual Goals?
WITH just 10 days to go until the 2010 World Cup kicks off in South Africa, FourFourTwo counts down 20 reasons why we love the World Cup so much.

Have your say.

Brilliant run and finish. Baggio- "Il Divin Codino" yeah i prefer the Italian
You are very close mate Juve payed Fiorentina €12 million OR 19 M in '90 which was indeed a WR fee. That is a far cry from today's player fees of the current crop of stars. €12 M will get u a young star but no where near enough for stars at Baggio's level
That goal from Al Owairan is definitely world class

That SA goal is pretty awesome, but the best goals ever scored in the World Cup were all the goals Australia scored in 2006!!!

It must have been in pounds as the euro wasn't around in 1990.
