FYI courage does not = two footed studs up challenges

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Grella: Roos Must Show Courage?
AUSTRALIAN international Vince Grella believes the Socceroos will need to be courageous in South Africa if they are to fulfil public expectation.

Have your say.

Grella you are a tool. If you make it through the first game without a red card I will be amazed.

Courage?! Is that what you call it.

HAL tackles are not acceptable at the WC. Big difference between tough and illegal challenges. Even 2 yellows will make him useless for Australia's third match as it will compromise you when challnging.

I think everyone is getting a bit carried away with all the Grella bashing.

Sure he hasnt had a great 2 years and is short of match fitness compared to 4 years ago etc, but the NZ tackle aside what is teh problem(with his tackling)?

Nothing in the Denmark game suggested he would get sent off. Sure his tackles were hard but they were legal. Did anyopne notice how many times he was the last man covering in the box? Do people see these things or base their opinions on other people's opinions on here?
Does anyone really believe the Grella of '06(aside from as I say say match fitness/sharpness etc..we're just talking about hard tackling) was any different???

Does anyone remember that he almost could have broken Ronaldo's shin in the first 20 mins against Brazil and how he wasnt even carded is beyond me!!!!

Grella has played like that his whole career. All good teams have a guy like him.

yes his tackle on Bertos was DISGUSTING and i was embarrassed I just think people are losing sight of reality just a little.

Grella is Grella. he has always straddled or stepped over the line.

I'm surprised at the attacks on Grella. Quite frankly, I don't give a shit about his bad tackle against New Zealand. Furthermore, you're all being super precious and sensitive.

I for one am not letting my high opinion of Grella's whole career fade because of one lousy tackle.

I'm just unimpressed with his response to coming back and supporting Aussie domestic football by playing in the A-League. Oh and his response to who should we look out for at the WC = "Vinnie Grella" - tool.

Who cares? Culina coming back to the A-League has damaged his career in my opinion and has made him a lesser player. I don't blame any player for preferring Europe over the A-League.

Also, what the hell is wrong with a bit of self-confidence? That's all it was when he said, 'Vinnie Grella,' self-confidence and self-belief. If anything, we need more of that in our team.

My God!!!!!!!!!!!
Him answering Vinnie Grella isuch a tongue in cheek thing to say to a question he's gotten 367 times in the last month.
It was funny not arrogant.
I really wonder about people here sometimes...

And big deal he was just being honest that he doesnt want to come back and play here. A lot of players won't even Chippers has said that. Grella is just to honest and lacks the tact of more media savvy and lets face it brighter team mates.

He owes the A-League nothing lets not be under the illusion that he does. he's clearly only got a year or two left in him then why put your body through more than you want to to have a year or 2 in the A-League where you will go from national hero to butt of jokes like happened to poor Aloisi by those fickle Sydney "fans".
