Hmmmmm, after todays game it seems Aus may not give the biggest fight. Well I believe we will but theres a lot of work to be done.

If we put in a performance like that against Germany hello 0-3 loss and group stage exit.

All I said was that if we play like that against Germany they will punish us heavily are you really going to disagree with that.

I don't disagree, though you bring up how badly we're going to lose to everyone every time Australia does something 'mildly' bad. Just 'once' I wish you'd say something positive about the socceroos for a change. :p It would sure as hell be a pleasant surprise. :) The only teams you ever seem to be positive about are the Serbs, Germans and Ghanians.

No worries though. I think you're one of the more 'correct' negative guys in this forum anyway. I guess you adopt the 'if I don't point out the inaccuracies it will never get better' approach.:p

Ok lets see positives from tonight.
- Chipperfield was excellent
- Culina played pretty well
- Pim actually changed to 4-4-2. Albeit after he's left our best striker in a 4-4-2 at home.
- We attacked more
- We scored

That's it tbh.

There's big positives out of our buildup, for sure - but some important negatives, and ones that will not, unfortunately, be addressed, because Pim has already made up his mind in those areas.

But the point SyCro makes is so fucking true, especially if you watched the game last night. Don't get me wrong - i want Australia to win and do well this world cup. I'll be giving them my full support, but if we're gonna be playing like that against the likes of Germany and Serbia, we may as well pull down our pants, bend down and spread our cheeks. Cause we'll get raped against those types of teams. We were lucky to have only 3 goals put past us tonight, and there were several opportunities were the U.S could gone on to post a Netherlands V Hungary score tonight. It would have been a lot closer had Kennedy latched onto those 2 opportunities of his on either side of the break - 2 opportunities, perhaps had it been another day he would have buried.

I'm frustrated by people like Reason who sit back and say "It's only a friendly it doesn't matter". When it's Australia V USA in the back end of 2011 and we're playing the friendly at Craven Cottage in London it doesn't matter, but when you're less then a week out from the start of the world cup, and it's guaranteed Pim isn't gonna change a whole lot/if not anything, you gotta look at it rationally and think, well if we perform like that in just over a week, there's gonna be a whole lot of drinking to be done to ease the pain.

I know we didn't have Kewell and what not, but still 3-1 against the U.S.A, a more then beatable team, who quite frankly in my book are on-par with Australia in terms of quality is somthing to be ashamed at.
