USA legend Alexi Lalas stirs it up ahead of England match claiming he 'would love to see Wayne Rooney act like a baby'

Alexi Lalas has urged the USA to wind up Wayne Rooney and get him sent off in the Group C opener on June 12.
US legend Lalas reckons the England’s talisman’s temper could be costly and the former defender — who scored when the US beat Graham Taylor’s England in 1993 — thinks there is nothing wrong in exploiting the striker’s weak spot.

Lalas, speaking at the launch of the 2010 FIFA World Cup simulation in Los Angeles, said: ‘I hope he has a temper tantrum, has a swing at someone and gets thrown out. I would love to see him act like a baby.

‘This is all part of gamesmanship and recognising the weaknesses and the flaws of the individual players and teams.’

Lalas added further prematch tension by claiming England think too much of themselves.
‘With all respect to England,’ he said. ‘I think they have a good team but they maybe are not as good as they think they are.’
