Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer looks set to complete a switch to London rivals Arsenal after holding emergency talks with manager Roy Hodgson. According to the News of the World, the 37-year-old Australian shot-stopper is on the verge of a £3 million move out of Craven Cottage after telling Hodgson the opportunity was too good to turn down. Schwarzer, who was in fine form for the Cottagers last season after guiding them to the Europa League final, is wanted by Arsene Wenger as a short-term solution to the Gunner's goalkeeping problems. He's anticpated to replace current No.1 Manuel Almunia as the club’s first choice goalkeeper, while acting as an example for youngster's Lukas Fabianski and Vito Mannone. Although Hodgson will be reluctant to let his veteran gloveman depart, especially with a year outstanding on his current deal, he's thought to have agreed in principle not to stand in Schwarzer's way. Schwarzer, who will be part of the Socceroos World Cup 2010 squad this summer, moved to the Premier League from Kaiserslauten in 1996 and has represented Bradford City, Middlesbrough and Fulham. http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2010/06/06/1961111/fulham-shot-stopper-mark-schwarzer-gets-green-light-for
