Quote:South Africa deports 10 Argentine supporters Reuters - June 7, 2010, 11:35 pm JOHANNESBURG, June 7 (Reuters) - South African police deported 10 suspected Argentine soccer hooligans on Monday after detaining them at Johannesburg airport less than a week before the start of the World Cup, the Argentine embassy said. Argentine media said the 10, part of a group of 80 supporters travelling from South America via Angola, had been picked out because of criminal records. "They are deporting them," embassy attache Adrian Vernis said. "The government of South Africa has the right to deport any person they consider to be dangerous for the rest of the people." South African police have little experience of soccer hooliganism, which does not occur at domestic games, and are relying on foreign forces as their eyes and ears in picking up trouble-makers arriving for the month-long tournament, which kicks off on June 11. Police minister Nathi Mthethwa said last month South African and British police had thwarted an attempt by English hooligans to get to the World Cup via Dubai. As many as 3,200 known English trouble-makers had been told to surrender their passports to prevent them travelling, he said. http://nz.sports.yahoo.com/football/news/article/-/7360566/south-africa-deports-10-argentine-supporters
