One only has to look at Argentina's WCQ campaign where they barley scraped into the WC. Also Maradonna used a record amount of different players to qualify. I truely beleive Maradonna will be their un-doing.

Xavi + Iniesta... bromance at its best.
But damn... the positioning of Silva at the far post there was superb. Iniesta draws the defenders, flicks it over for partner in crime Xavi, who then passes backwards across the goal to an open David Silva into an open goal. Class.

They rely too much on Messi. Messi cant single-handedly beat a superstar team. Tevez, Aguero, Milito, Higuan, Angel Di Maria, Veron, Maxi Rodriguez, Mascherano. I wouldn't call them a one-man team. Messi could be the icing on the cake for these guys if Maradona gets it right. Although I DO think Spain should win it. And what are the chances of that?

On paper they will win. Only it the game isn't played on paper, so we will have to see if lady luck shines upon them.

How can you not be:lol: That goal shows just how good Spain are. The intricate passing and movement and how they don't allow the opposition to get close and are just teasing and then bam they are in on goal. The way they move the ball is just unbelievable. Let me just check the footage again... ...nope, still not that impressed. Nice goal, but nothing 'that' special. The defenders don't even look like they're trying. something wrong with you mate

Over 70% possession for the Spaniards. That was freakish, they just cut the Poles to ribbons.

It's high-time Spain had success at the World Cup considering they've been a major player for many, many years. It's criminal they haven't won one yet.

They are just on another level compared to any other team at the WC.
They really should be $1.05 favourites for the tournament:lol:

firstly, great goal BUT Let's see if they can play like that when it comes to the crunch and hard fought battles in the knock out phase It is still Spain after all... Im sure they will get 9 points and 15 goals in the group stage, as will Holland, but I remain to be convinced that spaniards have the mettle it takes. Having won the Euros is the only thing that makes me think tehy might this time but still...
I will stand corrected though

I think there were about 5 men on him when he flicked that over the top, and about three men on the pass before that, and they all just end up standing around in a little pack like sheep who have been rounded up by the dawgs, watching the goal go in...

WHAT A GOAL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iaj_9lK0Nzg&feature=player_embeddedCourtesy of http://www.worldcupblog.org/world-cup-2010/its-spains-world-were-just-livin-in-it.htmlQuote:At this moment, Spain’s final friendly of their World Cup run up isn’t even over – it’s something like 3-0 in the 57th at the moment. The score or what have you is an afterthought, as is any debate over the most gifted team in South Africa. The story is the second goal, scored against Poland, which nine months from now will have spawned a David Silva generation of babies to mate with Andres Iniesta’s generation. (Well down the line – this is a family show, after all.)
To summarize: Spain is technically on another planet – we’ll call this Planet España, where Xavi is Chief Intelligence Officer, Andres Iniesta the Lord Mayor of the Interior, David Villa the Secretary of Scoring and David Silva the jack of all three. That doesn’t necessarily make them the best team, but shame on you if you miss a second of Spain this World Cup – the Minister of Defense, Carles Puyol, might just show up at your crib and beat you down with his club.
Hard to argue with that. Edited by GazGoldCoast: 9/6/2010 08:42:47 AM
