Serbia given permission to switch training ground

JOHANNESBURG (AP) -FIFA has given Serbia permission to switch training grounds after players complained the pitch could cause injuries.

Defender Aleksandar Kolarov told a press briefing Wednesday that the pitch at the AW Muller Stadium in Johannesburg was so unstable that the players were worried they were going to get hurt.

The Lazio player said the pitch was only re-laid three or four days ago.

Press spokesman Aleksandar Bojkovic said there had been no injuries but that the management asked FIFA for immediate permission to move grounds, which was duly granted by football's governing body.

After Wednesday's open training session at the AW Muller Stadium, the national team will move to the UG Rugby Stadium from Thursday.
