I think she's funny, but not next level funny. Maybe it's because she seems so normal? Her humour style is the exact same style that my high school friends circle had, just riffing on shit.
She's far from a great, I don't understand her rampant success either.

She's far from a great, I don't understand her rampant success either. My friends O/S love her because its just such a new style of humour for them. Typically American's don't take the piss out of themselves. The other point is that American comedy movies right now rotate characters played by one actor between movies. For example, Zac G always plays the same character, RDJ plays the smart arse, Rebel Wilson plays the fat Aussie chick who embraces the fat stereotype and Will Ferrel plays will Ferral. These characters are then just rotated throughout story lines. Sean William Scott is another. Basically it's Commedia Dell'Arte style comedy in the 21st century.

She's Australia's Melissa McCarthy, overweight and not funny
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Always wondered why they never had hilts on the light sabers to protect their fingers but that one looks like you'd be stabbing yourself all the time with it in close combat.

Typical CGI shitfest. Had flashbacks to Man of Steel with that zoom in/out + lens flare on the Falcon clip. Ugh. -PB

Last night i watched whatever the newest Hunger Games is called.
I liked it. I've liked all of the movies, even if parts didn't meet my expectations from the book, so far.

Totally not going to see the movie because of that stupid SOCCER BALL ROBOT, don't the producers know that that's impossible? And don't even get me started on the LIGHTSABERS in the films, boy don't they realize they don't actually exist? The entire movie is ruined. Damn you J.J. Abrams you destroyed my childhood.

I reckon Cloud Atlas would be the most divisive on my list. I found it great but I too could understand why people would hate it. Following a theme or series of coincidences across such a timeline (500 years or so) was quite interesting to me... as is the idea that every person has a purpose. I went into Interstellar with no preconceptions. It got a bit weird but the whole premise of the movie would be impossible without the weird bit at the end. Predestination is also weird but I bought into that big time. Saw it twice at the movies which for a tight arse like me is a big deal.

Conceptually Cloud Atlas was fine - it was the execution of many of the sequences that bored me to tears. As was the case with the Matrix sequels, it seems to become increasingly self-indulgent film-making. Talking of self-indulgence - Interstellar is Nolan with no-one telling him to calm the f*ck down. Was happy with it up until the black hole sequence - which I hated beyond words. An incredible cop-out. Over-all it's a film that wants to be 2001 so much, but misses the whole point of 2001.

-PB HOWEVER, nobody is forcing you to watch poorly generated CGI movies, youre the one at fault for watching something you knew was coming ALTHOUGH, CGI movies will be popular with the kids, and parents will be bitter for watching it, ie it ruins their childhood Heres hoping we live long enough to see our children's children become equally as bitter to see their childhood ruined by another starwars franchise :-k I'll throw this one out there, should Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity) have directed Star Wars instead of Abrams? I avoid Abrams like the plague, and Joss Whedon

In no order, these are the great films for this year: Ida Calvary Palo Alto A Most Wanted Man Under the Skin Frank Only Lovers Left Alive The Trip to Italy
The crap films I saw which came out this year The Rover - a dumb movie for smart people, has David Michod (director of Animal Kingdom) and Guy Pearce, but made a movie with the same contrivances as Dude, Wheres My Car? Lucy A Million Ways to Die in the West- although ... this is a guilty pleasure of mine Godzilla Tracks - a movie which really struggled to get up :( The Monuments Men

Was talking with a mate about Jurassic world, there seems to be heaps of references to Jurassic park in it and it felt awesome and awkward at the same time, hopefully it works better in the movie
