Jeremy Irons is 24 years older than Ben Affleck, so they already did bring in an Alfred that's older than Batman.

Imo the best thing about the Suicide Squad trailer is the fact that they're trying to flesh out the 2nd tier characters and giving people a chance to give a shit about them when the movie comes out.

Finally saw the new Star wars. A solid 8/10 a good base to build a new trilogy from. I feel like the people that saw this movie that didn't like it had way high expectations. I just went in with an open mind and enjoyed the experience.

Have to strongly disagree with you about Affleck. He was the best thing in the film - as close to the comic book look as anyone has got on screen. For the stand-alone he'll be directing as well - based on The Town and Argo I'm looking forward to what he does.Batman V Superman could have been great. Some pretty poorly handled sequences and loose as fuck plot lines that made no sense/were just weak took away from the film. They could have improved it many times over by reducing the lois lane involvement by 80%. There were too many cringe worthy dick cheese scenes. Still better than any wolverine film or the 3rd Xmen. No disagreement there - the film, other than Affleck - was a dog's breakfast of 'how much more can we squeeze in' and FFS who on Earth thought that 'Martha' was an acceptable way to resolve the conflict..?I watched 'man of steel' yesterday to prepare for the B v S today. It was much much better than I remembered it. I actually really like it for the most part. Agree on that too. Hadn't seen it until about a week before BvS, and thought it was a perfectly reasonable re-boot.----and jesse eisenbergs imitation of heath ledger was a joke(r) . kid needs more good drugs to pull that off. Agree on that too. Worst thing in the movie. Highly distracting, and a lot of what he does makes no sense at all in a linear world.

-PB I've no problem with them remaking it, I've concerns with their choice of director and the presence of Chris Pine. When I heard they were doing it I was hoping they would get all the ageing western actors and do it Expendables style. Eastwood, Costner, Redford, etc., as aging gunslingers. IGN'S TOP 25 CHEESY ACTION MOVIES Share. Let's party! BY LUKE REILLY Cheese. Some say it’s a delicious food product made from pressed milk curd left to ripen and age. And they are right; that is a fundamentally accurate description of what cheese very literally is. But literal cheese is for crackers. Figurative cheese? Well, that’s just the glorious, stringy goo that binds together some of the finest action films this side of 1967. Cheesy action movies stand apart from regular action films; cheeseball action movies revel in their ridiculous plots, corny one-liners, and absurd stunt sequences. The following films may not share the same esteemed reputations as objectively great action classics like Die Hard or RoboCop or Terminator 2, but they are amongst the cream cheese of the crop when it comes to silly yet sincere, bicep-bulging brilliance. Sure, they’re not really on the same rung as important stuff like Aliens, and Lethal Weapon, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. And sure, those are the movies that have all the acclaim, and the influence, and the genre-defining legacies. But do you know what they don’t have? Ninja. Some absolute corkers on this list. http://au.ign.com/articles/2016/04/26/igns-top-25-cheesy-action-movies

So Civil War is great, best MCU movie alongside Winter Soldier imo. Spider-Man steals the show and so fucking glad Marvel has creative control over him, although still haven't come to terms with Aunt May being hot yet.
Also Black Panther is great, did a lot more development on him than I thought they would, can't wait for the solo movie.

The Russo's showing that they are much safer hands with these characters than Whedon was when he was given creative control. My only criticism is around the really shockingly bad CGI in some of the smaller sequences - particularly Lagos and Bucharest. It seems like they went over their CG budget a bit on the airport scene (which was worth every cent of the ticket alone) and didn't have the time or money to polish up some of the other parts of the film. There really aren't any performance or script issues that I identified, and fears of it being too saturated with characters and stories after the shitfest of BvS were completely laid to rest.

Watched 'Look Who's Back' on Nerflix today.
Great movie, light hearted and some very funny scenes. If you can handle sub-titles (the whole film is in German), it's well worth a watch.

Yeah there was one really weird part in Bucharest where it looked like they were running at 1.5-2 times speed and it looked really bad. Although I can handle things like that if we get more scenes like the airport fight, because holy shit that was worth it. Better Avengers movie than Ultron and has me really excited to see what the Russo's do with Infinity War.
Also so happy with Zemo as a villain, the first since probably Loki to really fuck with the Avengers' heads and the only one who in the end kind of wins.
Edited by sydneycroatia58: 29/4/2016 09:58:05 AM

Civil War was good.
The scripting was awful and cringeworthy, and Spider-Man was shit because of that, but yeah... Good movie

This was one which came out a bit earlier this year which got a lot of interest, I was disappointed by the cinematic experience (difficulty understanding the dialogue) but have watched it on a platform WITH SUBTITLES ^ With subtitles its a more cerebral, and pretty fucked up experience And it features Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn) from Game of Thrones
