He's meant to be the experienced head at the back, cohesion shouldn't be an issue.

I've been tracking him for over the last few years. He has possibly been our best player defensively. When one looks at Moore's stats, he has been very solid. In the thread I started about the Germany/Australia game, I've given a run down of his tackling stats for the Socceroos over the last few years. His mistakes have usually been collective ones with lack of cohesion with the whole defence.

Moore has only lost one tackle!!! Incredible.

He has made worst mistakes in the A League, often being put under pressure by poor decision making from teammates.

In all honesty, I think Williams would have been his starting partner if he were fit. The damage Middlesbrough have done is ridiculous and unforgivable.

itd be interesting to see if neil wants a different defensive partner, but to think a clubless old retard is our second best cb option either means verbeek is a spaz or our other defenders just arent good enough.

He's going after the WC anyway, so it's a waste of energy to go on about his failures anymore. He won't use the same tactics in the Ghana game, so let's just focus on giving ourselves the best chance for that one, and wait and see what happens there.

Chippers put in the efford but simply couldn't keep up. Moore and Grella looked like they were playing denmark again - just plain disinterested.

Neill only looked bad because he was mopping up after Moore the entire fucking game.

For me it wasn't just the fact that Moore, Grella and Chipper were beaten by better players...Moore and Grella didn't even try...at least Chippers tried and was beaten for pace and skill.

Anyone bagging Neill needs to watch the game again and Moore and Grella should never play for us again and Chippers should be dropped for Carney.

To be fair to me, during the game I was about the only one making any noise, I was yelling "Come on boys, 4-3" when we went down 3-nil, for example...

I'll give that, it seems he did the most extreme case of resting players... in a vital match... and since his training was at altitude, like the rest of our games.

Formations are so easily adjustable and adaptable. No. It's not about the formation. It's about the tactics.

+1 Moore spent the entire game marking thin air, which meant Neill was having to drop deeper as the free man ran with the ball, all whilst marking Klose. Neill had a poor game, but if he was partnered by someone who could take some pressure off him he would've played a damn sight better. Watch the footage, Moore was caught out continually with no man while numerous players we making runs into the channels as Moore was stagnant.

Just wait until after the Ghana game until you condemn him. We were never expected to win this game. And we didn't. Who cares how it happened, who cares why. We have two games to get six points, and if Pim puts his head on straight, it is achievable. The Germans are a great team. That Ozil is probably the next big thing in world football. Who can forget also, the Bundesliga had full use of the Jubalani ball for four months before the tournament?

While, yes, Pim's tactics were outrageous, and seemed to go against even his character, we should wait until we are out before pointing fingers. But when we're out, scouse, I'll join you mate. I think Pim's tactics were ridiculous. Hopefully, though, against Ghana, Pim will find whatever it is he lost - or arguably never had. The Ghana game is most vital.

Sorry, I've been giving him a chance for well over 2 yrs now. But selecting Cahill & Garcia as forwards was the straw that broke the camels back.

Unlike some I'm quite happy with the whole 4-2-3-1 (hence the user name...) and I by my count at least 50% of the teams at the cup are playing a similar formation. Most of them seem to make it look pretty fucking good. But playing 4-6-0 in the first game of the world cup and leaving your target man on the bench would get you executed in at least 1 of the 32 countries at the cup.

I'll be supporting the team to succeed in the next two games but if they do it will be in spite of Pim not because of him.

That's what I'm hoping for. Pim, a manager who is quite resistant to change, is now being forced to change. Lets hope we have something to shift the mood and get excited about

I think I understand Pim's strategy, even as it rubs me the wrong way like everyone else. Let's just show our lads we are supporting them and see what happens next, it could be a masterstroke or express elevator to hell. Either way fasten your seatbelts!

Agree with scouse. Neil had a bad game. But against un quality teams he can keep the defense together. Against Germany he would have struggled with his own duties. Let alone the rest of the backline crumbling around him

Moore's lack of even basic marking or run tracking meant that instead of concentrating on the offside trap Lucas was constantly covering two players or more - his own and Craig's, his own and Vinnie's, his own and Chippers'. He had a poor game, everyone did. But for Lucas there's extenuating circumstances.

Moore was not our best defender he was woeful, the reason why it appeared Neill played poorly is because he was continually being dragged across to cover for Chippers, Moore and Grella who may as well have not been playing for all the use they were.

That Moore & Grella should have been dropped was clear before Germany, hell, it was clear a year ago, yet he ruined any chance of us getting a result (partially) by playing them despite their form.

And changed the entire system he's based his lucky, bullshit results on half an hour before the fucking match.

Why should Pim get a free ride for fucking up the most basic, elementary shit about being a football coach?

Sadly enough its true, Neill kept everyone onside.

He had his chance, and he's turned us into a bunch of quitters that have been riding our luck for way too long.

Just wait for Ghana, and if we play poorly, then i'll go off my head with the rest of you guys. Even though Pim's tactics puzzled me, and still do, i'm prepared to wait until Ghana to see if this was just part of a Pim masterpiece - unlikely as it seems.

But one thing's clear. Drop fucking Moore and Grella. Especially Grella. What a fucking poor attitude. I've lost a lot of respect for him.
