Matt, as shocking and embarassing as it was, the loss to Germany is reminder of how new Australia is to this sport. It is a journey it has only started (with no disrepect to the 1974 team, and previous generations) and as such will give us lows and highs, but all of which will help us become a respected football nation. When Australia flexes its muscles in two or three world cups, we will all remember the 2010 World Cup as the big wake up call we needed. Regardless of the next two results, I am proud Australia is at the world cup and learning some lessons (albeit very tough ones) that will help us become better.

I think we could have lost all 3 games, by narrow margins but ith a good showing, and it would not have really had that big an impact on the domestic game here.
But with that performance, it has given all the egg-ballers extra ammo, and could possibly put the game back to where it was before 2006.
Hope not though.....

What do you think about the FourFourTwo blog Saturday night > 3 points?
As I write this it is about 30 hours after IT happened and I have managed to shake off a semblance of the numbness I have been feeling in order to type out some thoughts in the aftermath of THAT game....

Have your say.
