sighhhh

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Moore: 'Two Grand Finals' To Come?
VETERAN Australian defender Craig Moore admits the Socceroos face a tough task to win two virtual 'grand finals' to get out of Group D but hopes the team can do the nation proud.

Have your say.

Man, kind of gettting sick of all this 'talk about the last two games.' I know it's meant to be good/maximum press coverage but it's often just the same old thing, just put slightly differently, player to player and Verbeek.

I'm soo sick of the talk.

Walk the damn walk.

Is it me does it seem Kewell is like the only one geared up for these matches, like really up for it? I certainly have faith that our boys can bounce back, but there's still that side of me - they DID perform like that against Germany, who says they will do any better against a strong, quick and powerful Ghanian side?

Lol I remember that was it - 2001 Confederations Cup? The one where Clayton Zane scored that winning goal against France? I distinctly recall one of the French players observing/accusing us of being on something or something, because, get this, 'we had red eyes!' Quite simply, we were sooo geed up for these infrequent tournaments, that we had no choice but to burst out of our skins. And we had that massive, 'Oceania,' chip on our shoulders, so we felt we CONSTANTLY had something to prove against the Europeans and co, over our unfair circumstances. Infact it was that kind of strong feeling amongst our team of pros, that kind of prompted those infamous shellackings of teams like American Samoa, Tonga and co, which happened right around that era. We intentionally had not inflicted such damage on our smaller island neighbours before, selecting third string teams etc... but by thrashing them I distinctly recall we were trying to send a message to FIFA and tbh I think it STILL DID have some impact/resonance when it can to us finally moving to the AFC in 2006.

But with all the games in Asia, relative overload of competitive fixtures, and the lack of a new, exciting thing, ANOTHER MASSIVE chip that WAS on our shoulder, World Cup qualification, which we defeated/put to bed thanks to our overcoming Uruguay in 05, now that isn't a problem, I hate to say it but our motivations just, naturally, aren't the same, certainly NOT the same as 05/06 and even the bad old days of Oceania. By moving to Asia, it seems we put alot of those demons to rest, but maybe we need to resurrect some of that kind of 'massive chip,' mentality.

The Ghanians are blowing full on arrogance in their press statements. They're going to beat us, apparently. We need to use that - 'SHOVE IT UP EM' 'ARROGANT GHANIANS' 'MORE EURO SNOBS,' 'They AREN'T better than us.'

'Red eyes' boys, 'red eyes.'
