Something is going on, the players aren't getting on amongst themselves, not the Coach.
Where is the Captain, stand up & be counted Lucas.

We will find out what the players really think after the campaign. No one is going to come out and say anything negative at this point in time, there is no reason to and it would only have detrimental effects.

What i am surprised with is that no senior players have come out to back him, as Jedinak, beachy and Holman have. No Moore, Bresc, Kewell or even the captain Neil. To me this suggests there is perhaps something going on.

everyone has accused him of been predictable and stubborn but look at germany (at least he took a risk, even if he didn't pay off).

What risk? He played exactly the same formation as he has in every other game since he took charge of australia. Just with players in stupid positions this time.

This is what I dont understand. How can people call it a 4-4-2??? It wasn't! It was no different to any other game we've played. Except instead of having Kennedy up front he had Cahill.

4 years ago he would have to beat a south american opponent, which based on his current form, he wouldnt have done.

I still don't know what I think about pim. He has got us results but he is not entertaining, everyone has accused him of been predictable and stubborn but look at germany (at least he took a risk, even if he didn't pay off). To be honest if he had been in this position 4 years ago we would be praising him for getting us through to the world cup.

I don't agree with many things he does and the way he plays (although who am I?) but something tells me he knows what he is doing and things will turn around. We will see.

Yeah. Nobody in the squad is going to say anything against the coach 'cause he has the power to let them play in the world cup or to deny them the opportunity.

but i though pim was the worst coach in the world and must be sacked immediately?

i guess the internet knows best, and pim must be bribing everyone to say nice things about him.

if pim gets us out of the group what will all the haters say then?

Chorus of Socceroos back coach Verbeek
17.06.10 | Andrew Slevison

A number of Australian national team players have backed head coach Pim Verbeek following rumours of a split between them and he.

Innuendo has surrounded the Socceroos camp since the disappointing 4-0 opening group stage loss to Germany with reports suggesting that there was a divide between some senior players and Verbeek but it seems that all is well in the Australia camp.

Defender Michael Beauchamp said: "All of the boys have exactly the same respect for Pim as they did for Guus.

"He will tell you when you're doing something wrong, he'll congratulate you when you're doing something right.

"It's a great thing to have a coach who has respect for every player, no matter who you are or where you come from."

Midfielder Mile Jedinak added: "Pim brings a calming presence to the team.

"But he also has a real strong focus which is something I've come to admire and will admire for years to come."

Brett Holman added further: "When you get the players only for a short time, you have to be good at man management.

"That's where I think he has learned from Dick Advocaat (who turned down the Socceroo job Verbeek eventually got) and Hiddink.

"You can see he's definitely picked up on the tricks of how the football world works.

"He doesn't speak a lot, but when he does it's always very useful."
