This is fantastic news!! Lets now hope we beat Ghana, and all will rest on the last game against Ghana -----------------Schwarzer----------------- --Wilkshire--Beachump--Neill--Carney-- ---------------Valeri--Culina--------------- ---Emerton-----Holman-----Chippers--- ---------------Kewell--------------- Bench: Bresciano For Emerton (70m) Kennedy for Chipperfield, Kewell moves to LWM Kennedy replaces him upfront. (60m) Grella for Valeri late on (85m) What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Cahill's Banned For One Match? SOCCEROO Tim Cahill has escaped with just a one match ban after his straight red card for his lunging tackle against Germany on June 13 in Durban.Have your say.

Good to see common sense has prevailed!
jimsmith I like your team for the Ghana game. Would like to see Wilkshire come in as a holding midfielder but I don't know who would then come on in Right Back position (I wasn't overly impressed with Milligan in the NZ game).

Glad to hear it although i still think even one game is harsh under the circumstances. How many games did the ref get?

Its funny how 3 weeks ago everyone wanted holman to be left out of the squad now everyone wants him to start. Full cerdit to Verbeek for sticking with him he has turned into a good player for the socceroos imo.

^ Holman is in a purple patch at least. Long may it continue. I hope he turns into a consistent high performer for the Roos.

Good news, but only matters if we beat Ghana.
Personally I think Kennedy should start against Ghana. They have the 3 points already and won't be leaving much space at the back.

Hopefully Cahil can fit into the 4-6-0 that Pim will probably want to use against Ghana.

quick, jimsmith, someone disagreed with you. You'd better post another line-up. Quote: with Jedinak's height and strength, could he ever be a centre back? thoughts... He probably could, but a world cup isn't the right time for experimenting. Quote:Its funny how 3 weeks ago everyone wanted holman to be left out of the squad now everyone wants him to start. Full cerdit to Verbeek for sticking with him he has turned into a good player for the socceroos imo. Fully aware of the shit fight this will start, he's played two 'good' games in which everyone else has played like crap and all of a sudden he's a national fucking hero? Get real. Cahill's lucky IMO, could have been far worse.

Federici (pull a Guus Pim you know you want to) Wilkshire-Beauchamp-Moore-Carney Valeri-Culina Emerton-Kewell-Chipperfield Kennedy
We need to score and we need a creative guy in the hole. Holman is not good enough. He can sub on if Kewell tires although in that case I would move Culina into the hole and bring on Milligan as a LB and shift Wilkshire into the linking DM role.

Playing Carney at LB against a physical team is suicide. Play Kewell on the left, chipperfield at LB and Bresc in the hole.

thank god its only one game...I reckon Timmy's gonna be at his best against the big physical Serbs..I hope vidosic gets a run against Ghana aswell, he has the technique and speed to really open the Ghanaians up. I hope pimbecile puts bresc in the hole..he's pretty much the only type of player we got that can play that role intelligently.

Kidding, just kidding. Is it just me or was this never going to happen anyway? The guy shouldn't have been sent off. It wasn't a good tackle but it wasn't a send off, even by World Cup standards. So why the hell would they give him an extra week for it being 'intentional'? He shouldn't have to sit out the automatic one game, let alone two.

Its why playing regular football in a good league is important, he's been one of only a handful in the 23 that can say that. nothing like a season of Euro first league match conditioning.
