Grella was substituted at half-time of the 4-0 loss to Germany in Durban, with his place in Australia's starting XI for this weekend's game in jeopardy - after a string of relatively poor performances.
With Tim Cahill suspended, under-fire boss Verbeek is certain to make at least two changes from the side that took the pitch in the comprehensive loss to Germany.
Grella, a veteran of 46 internationals, recently had a proposed move from Blackburn Rovers to Galatasaray called off as his career lurches from one frustrating injury to another. Fucking yes!

isnt there a rule allowing teams to swap in new members to the squad as injury replacements? because if there is get rid of grella and make the right decision you should have made at the start. BRING MACCA IN.

On the other hand, I feel that this may be a blessing in disguise for the Australian side, as I think Valeri or Jedinak could do his job as well, if not better than Grella has done lately.

Sprained knee? I've never heard that on before. Anyway I reckon Vinnie knew that he was going to dropped for the game against Ghana and decided that his pride was going to be insulted so thus the sprained knee.
We will probably be better off without him anyway as his performances of late have been atrocious.

Could be a cover up to something deeper - or he could just have a bad knee. Either way, Grella has been a shadow of the player he was a few years ago of late, so I'm confident Valeri will do just as good a job, if not better.
