Didn't think of that.:d They should just both do nothing for the whole match.

Mexico aren't dumb enough to do that. They will feel like the need a win to avoid Argentina in the next round. Mexico will go all out for the win.

Exactly.

sydneycroatia58 wrote:
South Africa are well and truly out. They will have to beat France by like 4-5 goals to make it. France are gone. They won't score more then one against Sth Africa if they score at all.

France don't deserve to make it so it's good they are going home. Domenech is a disgrace how Govou is in the squad let alone starting ahead of Benzema and Nasri is disgusting.

Anything can happen. :p
But yeah, France never even deserved to be at the World Cup so going out in the first round is karma for them.

last two major tournaments they haven't been able to get out of the group... and they were rather lucky in 06' WC... the question is, is it Domenech or is French football on the slide? the team is full of talent on paper but are the individuals over-rated?

Latinos showing the way for now. Never rated France in any case. Uruguay will prove a tougher test, although a draw for each will be enough for the round of 16.

France don't really have the reinforcements upfront, but the more exciting team won anyway. Lloris has been a bit of a flop, though the defense in front of him was a bit off too.

Well I guess you could say that, but then all Central American nations except for El Salvador are. And it doesn't stop them from being Latin American.

No, but Aussies might be able to relate to this...
Quote:
Under-fire France manager Raymond Domenech was left hoping for a miracle after their shock 2-0 defeat by Mexico.

Uruguay and Mexico meet in their last group game knowing a point will send them both into the last 16, and condemn France to an embarrassing exit.

"We need a miracle now," said Domenech, who will step down after the World Cup.

"When we are forced to rely on others, there's nothing to say. I don't have the words, it's a real disappointment for all the people who believed in us."

France, World Cup winners in 1998 and runners-up four years ago, followed a 0-0 draw with Uruguay in their opening game with another uninspiring display against a classy Mexico side.

El Tri coach Javier Aguirre's personnel changes proved inspirational, with all three substitutes involved in the second-half goals.

Javi Hernandez scored the first after breaking the offside trap and rounding the keeper, while Pablo Barrera was tripped to allow Cuauhtemoc Blanco to seal the win from the spot.

Domenech, meanwhile, replaced the ineffectual Nicolas Anelka with Andre-Pierre Gignac at half-time but it failed to revive France.

Hernandez breaks French offside trap for 1-0
"If we had the answers then we could have done something about it," said the France coach.

"We had good intentions and desire. I feel just like all of the fans, all the French people. It's more than just a disappointment.

"At the moment, I don't know what I will say to the players."

France play hosts South Africa in their final group game on Tuesday.

"We have to be strong and at least play for our honour. At least we must show something in the last match," added Domenech.

France great Zinedine Zidane, who helped Les Bleus win the World Cup in 1998, criticised Domenech for relegating Yoann Gourcuff to the bench.

"The coach made the decision but I don't agree with it," Zidane told Mexican television station Televisa. "I am disappointed because France did not have a single shot on goal - and that should be the least to be expected."

Chelsea winger Florent Malouda, who was restored to the starting line-up against Mexico after a reported argument with Domenech, echoed his coach's thoughts.

"It's up to us to save our honour. It's a shame to lose like this. It's hard to react, but we can't go out of the World Cup without winning a match."

France captain Patrice Evra added: "I'm disgusted, and we owe it to ourselves to beat South Africa, but as for miracles, I don't believe in them too much."

France suck and I always take pleasure in seeing them fail, just like the Euro2008.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Mexico Say Au Revoir To France?
NEW Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez scored as Mexico moved close to qualification and hastened France's exit with a 2-0 win.

Have your say.
