What do you thinks been more controversial?

Personally i think the Ball, they have dealt with the horns, they're not as prelifent, and you can hear some singing/chanting during games, not to mention the commentator/s.

I went with the vuvuzela's. The ball controversy has come up at the last two cups, and although it seems more prominent this time around it is a common thread across many tournaments. The vuvuzelas however have never been at a world cup before, and so in my opinion more controversial.

They may have died down now, but all the talk of them ruining the tournament has dwarfed the criticisms of the ball.

Unless vuvuzelas die out before the round of 16 (ie. the blowers give up) then this will be firmly, far and away the worst world cup ever. Maybe even the worst ever sports event after WWF & any pre-season cup.

hahah nice one! I wouldn't go that far as the worse ever sports even... Worse ever world cup? I can only remember watching from Italia 90 when west germany won it. the argentina and chile games have helped me enjoy it more but going by that, the atmosphere has been the most annoying so far :P

I voted the vuvuzelas. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR#@T%@#%@!!

The ball... it's arguable it's one of the reasons for the lack of goals compared to the 2006 tournament, the Vuvezela's are only an issue for tv stations and a handful of players... what SHOULD be one of the biggest issues but hasn't got alot of media attention is the amount of empty seats at games, that is something that has to be addressed and internally reviewed and become one of the criteria's for the World Cup host selection (if it isn't already), it doesn't look good for FIFA or South Africa

The lack of goals is more down to defensive footba than the actual ball itself. The ball issue has been blown way out of proportion by the media. The players themselves have said to stop talking about the ball and I agree. The reason Spain didn't score a hatful is because of great defending by the Swiss and poor finishing not the ball. Great defensive work was the reason brazil only beat North Korea 2-1.

Agree on the empty seats but if they allocated World Cups based on attendance figures the USA would get it each time. To be honest I'm not sure Brazil will be much different next time.

It's most interesting to see how everyone appears to believe that the only controversial issues at the world cup this year are the ball and the vuvuzela. I would have expected - as it was one of the biggest issue before the world cup, that nobody has said anything about the crime in South Africa.

I wonder if there were any irregular bets on that Serbia match - because that referee seemed determined for Serbia to win...
