Cahill got a red because of an untidy tackle. Yeah, it was harsh but they get awarded - and he should have known better after the clattering tackles he'd dished out in the warmups.

Klose's red card the other day was harsh, but hey - he was warned first for a rough tackle. Then he made another one while tracking back, and had a yellow. Then he did it again. Soft way to get sent off, but even Klinsmann said on BBC that he contributed to his own downfall.

Lack of a red card against a Ghanian tonight, sure - but they had a bunch of guys yellowed. One two footed lunge could have deserved a red, 50/50 call. Maybe the roo involved could have milked it and got the guy a red - but we chose to chase the game.

the refs have been consistently shit thats right and I'm pretty sure were all going to live with that fact - not much can be done but we're going to call bloody murder regardless because we all have an opinion on how shit they have been esp against us since this is an aussie-centric forum.

Just on the injury time issue. I don't know how much injury time people were expected to be added on. You don't get extra injury time if a player is injured during injury time. In this case the Pantsil went down at about the 2min mark in injury time. Now 3 mins of added time were alloyed and we restarted play at about the 4:10 mark. Now we don't get an extra 2:10 added on we only get the minute of alloted time we missed. Yeah he called it a bit short of that minute but wouldn't have mattered in the end.

re: the 'missing' injury time, IIRC Ghana had the ball when the whisle was blown anyway.

As for what the BBC think, FUCK the commentator. He's as much entitled to his opinion as me or the next guy, but don't go holding up a BBC commentator as the holy grail of a contentious red card decision when you've got FIFA publications telling you that there are plenty of reasons why it WASN'T a foul. Safe to say I don't think Rossetti will be refereeing any more world cup matches.

as much as I hated to see us go down to ten players I think anyone who is complaining has forgotten to take off their green & gold glasses - the ball hit Harry in the arm which stopped it going in the net, he was on the last line of defense, therefore the ref had no choice but to show him the red card. They are the rules of the game.
