England boss Fabio Capello will quit if he fails to qualify for World Cup 2010 last 16 - report
20 Jun 2010 10:27:00
Fabio Capello's future as England manager will be in real doubt if the Three Lions fail to qualify from the group stages at World Cup 2010.
According to the News of the World, the Italian manager could walk away from his £6 million-a-year post if England fail to make the last 16, as his release clause was removed before the tournament in South Africa in light of interest from Inter Milan.
Having drawn against both the USA and Algeria in their opening two Group C games, England now need to win their final match against Slovenia to ensure safe passage to the knockout stages.
It is also believed general manager Franco Baldini is taking stock of his position as assistant, amid interest from several top European clubs who want to take him on board as a techinical director.
After the dissapointment of Friday night, where England drew goalless with Algeria, Capello was said to be very upset with his side's performance and he'll be looking for major improvements in Wednesday's showdown with Slovenia.
The England squad returned to training with a clean slate this morning, and Capello is keen to put things right as England look to progress in South Africa.

As if this needed reporting, why would he stay if they fail so early. The english would likely kill him anyway.

Gotta have a laugh at the situation England have got themselves into. They need a win against Slovenia who looked good against the US and nothing less than a draw will do:lol:
They really are fucked

The England team visited an orphanage in Cape Town today. "It's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope" said Jamal aged 6.

No surprises there. If they don't make it out of the group he won't be able to go back to england.
