Guys, first of all their coach shits all over ours.

Second of all, we're only 16 minutes into the fucking match. There's still plenty of time for italy to switch on.

i am Australian, and we'll probably never hear the end of it if they do. however, i must admit it will be of no small consolation for 06 and harry's send off if they do manage to steal a win.

Don't know what people are complaining about it was a penalty. Sure De Rossi made the most of it but Smith was clearly holding him.

Plus some Italians would consider it even seeing as Smetlz was offside when he scored.

the NZ captain was livid and rightly so, he was rubbing his hands together at the ref to indicate cash in hand, or at least it looked like it. he let him go, and then he fell over, this is so pathetic.

Like that always gets called a penalty, right?

Its clear that the big names get the benefit of the doubt whereas the minnows always get stung to the letter of the law.

What doubt? the feather touch on the NZ player as the ball passed on to hit Cannavaro that was only visible on super slo-mo? The path of the ball didn't deviate, you expect a linesman 50 yards to see that? IF that was given offside then you know 100% that the tournament is rigged.

That's right they were gettin their jumper pulled but thy were giving it back just as good as they got. In cases like that two wrongs make a right.

Debatable.

and the ital had a hand on the nz player.

A shirt tug in th box hardly EVER gets called.

And 100% it wasn't the shirt pull that the ref blew for, but the dive afterwards, because the ref was on the wrong side he couldn't have seen the shirt tug.

What's your point? Numbers 6 and 8 for Slovenia are also being held. 17 is also holding the arms of four and the bald guy is backing into his opposite number. Each is getting as much as they're giving. What do you do there? Call a fucking drop ball?

More to the point, this is physical grappling, rather than pulling a guys shirt to hold him back where the player can't do anything about it.

Well, this is also true. Smith was dumb enough to give De Rossi the chance to dive, though.

Fair's fair, both goals could have been called the other way by the refs.

1: The holding of the was insgnificant & De Rossi also had his arm on Smith,
2: He was not been held moments before he dived
3: He was no where near the ball & in no position to get the ball when he took the dive.
4: None of the Italian players complained about the NZ goal. That tells you that they didn't think it was offside.
4: If the ball touched Reids head it was by about a hairs width & could not hve been seen by the ref or linesman. Looking at it again I cannot see where he touched it at all.
5: As it didn't touch Reids head Smeltz could not have been offside.
