i am Australian, and we'll probably never hear the end of it if they do. however, i must admit it will be of no small consolation for 06 and harry's send off if they do manage to steal a win.

Theres a long time yet. But i have faith. I feel they may need another though.

Don't know what people are complaining about it was a penalty. Sure De Rossi made the most of it but Smith was clearly holding him.

Plus some Italians would consider it even seeing as Smetlz was offside when he scored.

What doubt? the feather touch on the NZ player as the ball passed on to hit Cannavaro that was only visible on super slo-mo? The path of the ball didn't deviate, you expect a linesman 50 yards to see that? IF that was given offside then you know 100% that the tournament is rigged.

The difference being, that was prior to the whistle from a set piece. This was in open play. Context is a fucking marvelous thing.

And 100% it wasn't the shirt pull that the ref blew for, but the dive afterwards, because the ref was on the wrong side he couldn't have seen the shirt tug.

In that pic out of the 4 circles two of the USA players are giving it just as good as they are getting it and in the back there's another in the back pushing back.

What's your point? Numbers 6 and 8 for Slovenia are also being held. 17 is also holding the arms of four and the bald guy is backing into his opposite number. Each is getting as much as they're giving. What do you do there? Call a fucking drop ball?

Well, this is also true. Smith was dumb enough to give De Rossi the chance to dive, though.

Fair's fair, both goals could have been called the other way by the refs.

as an australian i have to say im really proud of NZ, great to see the italians get their just desserts - i'll never get over 06.

1: The holding of the was insgnificant & De Rossi also had his arm on Smith,
2: He was not been held moments before he dived
3: He was no where near the ball & in no position to get the ball when he took the dive.
4: None of the Italian players complained about the NZ goal. That tells you that they didn't think it was offside.
4: If the ball touched Reids head it was by about a hairs width & could not hve been seen by the ref or linesman. Looking at it again I cannot see where he touched it at all.
5: As it didn't touch Reids head Smeltz could not have been offside.
