This is a prime example of where FIFA needs to use video technology. The game was already stopped, none of the officials saw what happened as they were watching where the ball was, so the ref entirely bases his call on the academy award performance from the guy lying on the ground. A quick look at the reply would have seen the yellow card go to the other player for faking an incident in an attempt to get his opponent sent off! At the very least FIFA need to be able to review this after the game, realise that it never should have been a red card and cancel any suspension. The idea that there can be no recourse for when a player successfully fools a referee is just unforgivable. Kaka is standing there watching the ball and this guy blatantly runs straight at him, runs into him and falls down clutching his face (with which there was never any contact of any sort anyway). With a review system in place, Kaka should be freed up to play the next game and the Ivorian player suspended for his dispicable act! What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Red Card Drama Spoils Brazil Rout? KAKA was controversially sent off as a brace from Luis Fabiano and an Elano strike helped Brazil ease to a 3-1 victory in their battle with Ivory Coast at Soccer City.Have your say.
