Australia’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup Round of 16 hinge on a vast array of results in the final Group D matches.
Australia take on Serbia on Wednesday night (Thursday morning AEST) in Nelspruit whilst Germany meet Ghana in Johannesburg at the same time.
At present the group stands like this:
GHA - Points: 4. Goal Difference: +1
GER - Points: 3. Goal Difference: +3
SRB - Points: 3. Goal Difference: 0
AUS - Points: 1. Goal Difference: -4
These are the scenarios in which Australia can qualify for the second phase of the 2010 World Cup.
