So basically Fabiano has admitted he is a cheat and that he thinks its ok to do this because it means he can score a good goal.

Completly lost my respect for him now. Some of these top players may be gifted on the football field but as humans they have no class.

For the referee to ask him if he handeled it is just a joke. It is as if the refs are to scared to give anything against the stars. The inmates are truely running the asylum

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Handball Was Not Deliberate - Luis Fabiano?
LUIS Fabiano has admitted to using his hand in the build-up to scoring "one of the most beautiful goals" in his career in last night's victory over the Ivory Coast.

Have your say.

I think the only reason the ref asked is because an Ivorian complained. The ref wouldn't have picked up either handball(especially the second which would have been virtually impossible for him to see) and it was more of a joking enquiry from the ref.

Can't really blame the ref for missing either one. The first one at normal speed would have been very difficult to pick up and the second one would have been virtually impossible for the ref to see.

Sydcro, these referees are meant to be professionals, the best in the game, the epitome of officials in the sport. You shouldn't have to be making fucking excuses for them at this level! Especially the number of times we've seen in the last two weeks. We've seen more controversial decisions in the last two weeks than you see in TWO MONTHS of EPL or La Liga.

Teza, I think you're being a little unfair, if you're in that position you're not going to stop unless you hear the referee's whistle. You don't just stop directly in front of goal because you inadvertently touched the ball when you challenged for it.

Yes they are professionals but does that mean they can see trough a human beings body, because that's what he would have had to do to pick up the second hand ball. It was impossible for the ref to see that.

The first one granted he could have picked it up but again it is extremely difficult to pick up a handball like that in real time.

Human beings make mistakes, these referees make complete fucking cock-ups. There have been SO many mistakes this World Cup, it's been unacceptable.

He should have seen the first hand ball, he was only a matter of meters away and looking directly at it.

It was more around the feeling I got from his comments that he excused the handball (and knew he had done it)because it resulted in a goal. It is no different to the French goal against Ireland & we all complained about that.

Again and again world class players have showed us that they have no real class by cheating and because they are the best they know they can get away with it.

You are right about the quality of the refs so far, not to be biased (and I can't believe I'm saying this about an A League ref:)) but the best performance I have seen so far has been by Nz'z Mike Hester & his team. Can't remember who was playing but he was fair, picked up all the fouls, only gave out I think a couple of yellow cards for repeat offending & he let the game flow.

would've loved to have seen the ref's response if the lying cheat said he did handle it.

Fabiano 2010 = Rivaldo 2002
