Fantastic effort. Although if it wasn't for poor finishing, Spain could have won by 6-7 goals as well. I can't believe Villa missed the penalty completely! And Torres missing plenty of sitters as well...

Are they good enough to beat Chile? At this point, I don't think so. WORK ON THE FINISHING!

would have loved to have seen villa get his hat-trick otherwise I had no doubt spain would win this game.

Chile and spain need to both work on their finishing.
I think spain will edge out a very tight group chile team esp with chile having two of their better players out.

This group will be very interesting now that honduras will be playing for pride whilst switzerland will now be going for a win. They've showed how great they are at back but have yet to really light up the score sheets.

Chile will be at least hoping for a draw esp if Switzerland do switch up a gear put in a few. Spain will be pumped after this game and will be going for a win. I can't wait for the chile and spain game!

Anything other then a win - would have been an embarrassment,and another big shock in the World Cup.

Torres should have taken the penalty for his confidence. Who cares if Villa was on a hat-trick he needed to do the team thing.

Navas needs to learn to cross and FFS Spain stop taking short corners...it's not working! Look for Pique ghosting into the box!

I wouldn't really say returned to form the same problems from the first game are their. Their finishing is just non existent and they start to look lost and out of options once they get to the final 3rd.

It took a piece of brilliance from David Villa and a deflection to beat Honduras. Not so great.

Anyone else see how Villa should have been sent off for that slap?

Spain are in really big danger of missing out. To finish top they need to beat Chile by two goals a win by less than that will see them finish second and meet Brazil in the second round most likely.

Chile only need a draw to go through and if they draw and Switzerland win Spain are out.
