Dear Pim,
How are you? I hope you are well.
Oh wait, no, I hope you die of explosive diarrhoea.
Your inexplicably negative tactics cost us a spot in the round of 16, of that there can be no doubt. No strikers? Honestly? What the fuck was that.
I can say with some conviction that the outstanding performances against Ghana and Serbia were down to the players wanting to prove to their country that Pim hadn't stifled their passion and pride in the green and gold, and were nothing to do with your 'tactics'.
So what now, Pim? You've left us weaker than when you took over - your complete aversion to any sort of risk meant you didn't blood young players well enough for them to challenge the old, decrepit, or dreadfully out of form (Moore & Grella, in particular). Look how incredibly Holman, Beauchamp and Valeri played - you could have had that all qualifying. But you haven't learned anything from it - all we've learned is not to accept a second rate piece of shit as manager next time.
You're just fucking off to Morocco with a fat cheque and no consequences for your actions. I hope you die in a plane crash on the way there, you have brought shame to our nation. That would be the appropriate consequence for your actions (and inaction).
I hope the Australian public gets a chance to lynch you before you die of natural causes.
Fuck off now, please.

Yep, his tactics possibly cost us a place but I'm very proud of the way we played in the last 2 games. Also glad to see the back of him...

Capable players who debuted under Pim; Holman, Valeri, Rukavytsa, Oar, Williams, Vidosic, Spiranovic, Garcia
The squad v Ghana had Carney, Kennedy & Valeri, and add Beauchamp for Serbia. That is a difference to 2006, and the team on the park in each case got a result.
If you judge a manager on their last result, Pim can be judged well. Germany alone is another matter.

Jesus, kill the guy for a game we were never going to win. We were outclassed by a better team. Sure Pim got it wrong, but he got the last two exactly spot on. And qualifying was superb. I don't know how new some of you fans are, but if all your going to compare the guy to is Hiddink, then he will be a dissapointment. He is miles better than our other two most recent coaches (Arnold & Farina) and we played some really good football.

I can understand losing, Nico, there's no problem with that. Because of his tactics and the complete lack of confidence instilled in the team by Pim, we got fucking murdered. At the World Cup. We should have beaten a very good Italy side in Germany, remember - we challenged Brazil and played exceptionally well against them, too - there was no fear, no acceptance of second best in those games. There were some gutsy efforts in both games because the players AND the coach thought we could win - or at least get a result. The difference this time was having a negative coach who didn't have faith in his own tactics or in his own players to do the job - despite having two years to prepare for the World Cup and blood players who were good enough.
I will have to agree to disagree with you about being better than Arnold and Farina - I think he's right on their level. Which is sad, given the high hopes I think we all had at the start of his reign.

Bloody hell, no pleasing some people.
We finished on the same results as Germany but people demand better don't they?
Yes, Pim fucked up tactically in the first match but he got the last two spot on I'd say (except for Garcia imo). Also he can't play for the players, their laziness is their fault.
Pim qualified us for our 2nd WC in a rowv and we won a match and was in with a chance to progress the whole match.
He did pretty fucking well in my book, especially for someone jumping ship.

I'd say losing Tim Cahill when we did kind of destroyed any chance we might have had. We couldn't change the way we played then because we'd just have been too stretched. Fact is, nothing went our way that game. Yes, it cost us the R16, but I don't totally blame Verbeek. I think Moore being selected was his biggest mistake. People can crap on about attitude all they want, but there isn't a lot to prove that going all out attack would have helped either. Quote:I will have to agree to disagree with you about being better than Arnold and Farina - I think he's right on their level. Which is sad, given the high hopes I think we all had at the start of his reign. One big difference is, Holman would never have been on that plane. Arnold or Farina would either not have seen the talent, or folded to the media/fan criticism. Instead, we'd have Nick Carle... I don't know if you've realised, but we just outclassed Serbia. The idea of winning 3 or 4 to nil wasn't out of the question. You really believe we could have done that under Farina or Arnold your kidding yourself.

Dear Pim,
Unfortunately, you found out two games too late what Australians are capable of. After two years of putting us down, putting our league down, boring the pants off the fans with ridiculous tactics, aiming the bar very low and being singly responsible for giving up before kicking off against Germany; we have finally shown you what true Aussie spirit is. You found out too late that Australians will always prefer a gutsy loss over a heartless draw.
When it comes to playing teams like Germany, we don't expect to win although we deserve the respect and reassurance from your team selections, formations and tactics that YOU believe we can win. We didn't see that from you until this morning, and that's a real shame.
I hope you take the mistakes you have made during your tenure and learn from them for your future job. Have a little faith in your charges, don't be so grim and take a chance once in a while. You might find that Moroccans are just as proud to wear the shirt as Australians are.
I wish you all the best for the future, but forgive me when I say that I'm very glad to be seeing the back of you.

Dear Pim, For three years you frustrated the shit out of me, playing players out of position, sticking to tactics that clearly weren't working, and defending poor performances in the name of "getting the results". And then you went and got us annihilated by Germany courtesy of cynicism, lack of believe in your charges and a complete lack of understanding of how your opponents were going to work. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for taking the time this world cup to fuck australia over, and validate every reason I've built to hate you since you took charge of our boys back in 2007. And thank you, for taking the time to get TWO decent performances in three and a half YEARS out of the lads before departing. Appreciate it. Shame it didn't come SOONER, like BEFORE we were STRUGGLING FOR OUR SURVIVAL. Fortunately I've seen enough to have faith in the national team's health once you're gone. Thanks again, and good ridance. FUCK OFF. Sincerely, afroman.

I think the players got stage fright. We had plenty of our best players rusty & underdone or out of form. Our squad doesn't have the depth of Germany so those players were picked and we played them with 10 men for most of the game. If it had been our third game instead of our first I think we could have got a point or maybe even three.

Notorganic. Sums it up well. I don't want him to die in a plane crash or some rubbish, he's not a bloody rapist or something, but he certainly does deserve to have his career fall in a heap as he is clearly quite crap. The players achieved something this world cup, the coach achieved very little.
